BLD2003-00799
1) Contractor registration laws are governed under RCW 18.27 and enforced by the WA State Dept of Labor and Industries, Contractor Compliance Division.
There are potential risks and monetary liabilities to the homeowner for using an unregistered contractor. Further information can be obtained at
1 800-647-098�. The person signing this condition is either the homeowner, agent for the owner or a registered contractor according to WA state law.
2) All approved plans are required to be on-site for inspection purposes. If an inspection is called for and plans are not available on site, then approval will
not be granted. In addition, a re-inspection fee (refer to current fee schedule, minimum 1 hour)will be charged and must be collected by the Building
Department pryo)to ahy further inspections being performed or approvals granted.

3) In accordance with the Uniform Building Code, all sites shall have approved numbers or addresses located in such a position as to be plainly visible and
legible from the street or road fronting the property. Mason County Building Department requires that this be completed prior to calling for any site
inspections. A re-inspection fee based on rates as adopted by the jurisdiction and the Uniform Building Code will be assessed if the owner and/or
contractor f jl to post the address on site prior to requesting inspections.

4) The plan review check list and corrections, along with the Energy Compliance Worksheet(when applicable) are part of the approved plans and must
remain thereto. It is the responsibility of the applicant to make the corrections indicated on the plans. Once the plans are marked "APPROVED", they
shall not be changed or altered without authorization from the Building Official. The permit holder is responsible to retain the complete approved set of
plans on site l I thg duration of the project. Failure to comply and/or removal of approved documents will result in failure of required building inspections.
5) THE FOUNDATION SYSTEM SHALL BE PLACED ON UNDISTURBED, NATIVE SOIL. X_ ,)

6) The"approved" plot plan is required to be on-site for inspection purposes. If an inspection is requested and the "approved" plot plan is not on site, then

with the Uniform Codes as amended and adopted by Mason County. Any corrections, changes or alterations required by a Mason County Building

10) THE DEMO TON AND DISPOSAL OF DEMOLITION DEBRIS MUST MEET REQUIREMENTS AS PER MASON COUNTY REGULATIONS.

11) All property lines shall be clearly identified at the time of foundation inspection. X
12) All building permits shall have a final inspection performed and approved by the Mason County Building Department prior to permit expiration. The failure
to request a final inspection or to obtain approval will be documented in the legal property records on file with Mason County as being non-compliant with
Mason County ordin nces and building regulations.

13) All permits expire 180 days after permit issuance, or 180 days after the last inspection activity is performed. The Building Official may extend the time for
action for a period not exceeding 180 days, upon the receipt of a written extension request indicating that circumstances beyond the control of the permit
" holder have prevented action from being taken. No more than one extension may be granted.

This permit becomes null and void if work or construction authorized is not commenced within 180 days,or if construction or work is suspended for a period of 180 days at any time after work is
commenced. Evidence of continuation of work is a progress inspection within the 180 day period. Final inspection must be approved before building can be occupied. Proof of continuation of
work is by means of a progress inspection.The owner or the agent on the owners behalf, represents that the information provided is accurate and grants employees of Mason County access to

The Mason County Building Department has an open enforcement case against the
above described parcel of land situated within Mason County for non-permitted construction.
According to the Mason County Assessor records, you are the current Taxpayer of this parcel.
Pursuant to Mason County Code, Title 14 Building and Construction, a permit for the type
of activity is required under the 2006 International Building Code and your property is currently
in violation status.
Our records indicate that a shed roof addition to a garage has been constructed on the
above described parcel. To date, our records indicate that no current building permits have been
issued for this type of construction. A permit is required prior to construction of this type.
As a courtesy, I am asking that you contact me, in regards to this violation and identify
what your intentions are in closing this matter. You are required to permit or remove the said
shed roof prior to June 23, 2008 to avoid further enforcement actions.

Notification of Continued Violation

The Mason County Department of Community Development is currently reviewing all permits that are
ready to issue but have not yet been claimed. We previously notified you that your permit was ready
to issue. In addition,your permit was necessary as a result of enforcement activity or for construction
that occurred without required permits.
Mason County has adopted, through ordinance,the following sections relating to violations and
penalties:
Section 15.13.050 Civil Fines:A person who violates any provision of the Development Code, or who
fails to obtain any necessary permits,who fails to comply with the conditions of a pen-nit, or who fails
to comply with the notice of civil violation shall be subject to a civil fine.
The civil fine assessed shall not exceed one thousand dollars($1,000)for each violation, except
where the hearings examiner is authorized under this ordinance to double the fine. Each seperate
day, event,action or occurance shall constitute a separate violation.
In addition, Mason County Code, Section 15.13.020(D)authorizes the issuance of civil infractions
when deemed appropriate.
After cooperating with enforcement personnel on this issue by making application required, it would
not seem practical that your intent by not picking up your approved permit is to forego further legal
action. I have directed that any file for which a building permit is ready but not issued will be given 30
days to make the necessary arrangements to pick up the approved building permit. Any permit
remaining unissued after 3/1/2007, will be processed according to Chapter 15.13 of Mason County
Code and/or other alternatives authorized by the adopted codes to secure compliance to Mason
County's permitting regulations.
