I have a question concerning the drawing.The only drawings we have are the original As-builts, which were stamped by Washington engineer, but are dated 1981. I'm assuming Trish is wanting something recent for this project, but I didn't know if this would be acceptable or not. Sorry to bombard you with another email, but I have another project at Bingham Creek Hatchery that has a permitting question for you all.There is a fish ladder/trap about a quarter mile upstream from the hatchery on Bingham Creek that has some major safety concerns.The biggest repair we will need to do that raises the most questions will be replacing a metal leg on one of the lower platforms.The original support leg was sheared off at some point, leaving the platform sagging and unsafe to walk on. Since this platform is regularly used by hatchery staff, it has become a pretty significant hazard. I've attached images of the platform with the missing leg, a similar support leg that shows the proposed installation,the original as-builts of the ladder/trap that shows the platform location,and an aerial view of the structure to give you an idea of its location.The new support leg will be welded in place to the platform and then bolted into the substrate with 4 anchor bolts. No fill or dredging will occur during this process and no dewatering or isolation will be necessary. Installation of the leg footing will take about 20-30 minutes total. Since this is a safety hazard and is 2 considered facility maintenance repair,we are looking to get this done within the next couple of months. I know that this would not require a shoreline permit or exemption based on RCW 90.58.357, but I wasn't sure if this would require the same flood development permit application that was submitted for the fish return tube? Good morning Julie and Annie, After Joey sent me your all's contact info I got a little busy and forgot to send out an email with my project info on it. Sorry about that! So I am the permitter for a few projects out at Bingham Creek Hatchery, and I'll send a more-detailed email here in a little bit concerning one of the projects but I do have a quick question about another one. Bingham Creek Hatchery currently only has one fish-return tube on one side of their holding ponds.To make the jobs of hatchery staff easier and make the hatchery more efficient, it was decided to install a second fish-return tube on the other side of the holding ponds and attach it to the current return tube. I've attached an image showing where the tube would be,and an overhead showing the location on the property.This is very minimal work, with a small opening in asphalt to connect one tube to another tube and will be completed in a couple of days. Since Bingham Creek Hatchery is located in a floodplain, I needed to ask if this would need a floodplain permit or if our staff are clear to get the work completed. If you could let me know your all's decision on this project as soon as possible, I would greatly appreciate it.
