Mr.Allen is planning on a future pool hall in Belfair with 2 employee's.in addition to
his customers being able to play pool,he will offer soft drinks and ice cream. There is one
unisex restroom in the building with a toilet and a wash basin that will serve the
customers. There is also a sink outside the restroom for washing dishes. He expects that
the amount of water generated from the sink will be minimal. (Rinsing ice cream scoop"
and washing coffee pot etc.).All of the dishes used will be disposable.
if you look in the EPA manual under nonresidential wastewater flows,(3.3.2)they vary
greatly and are hard to predict it is my recommendation that we use the calculation of 1.6
gallons per flush(new style toilets)and add in a figure of.4 gpd for the wash basin,
making a figure of 2.0 gallons per day per customer use. if the pool hall has 100
customers per day and% of them use the restroom once then the number of gallons
generated per day would be 150. Add to that an estimate of 100 gpd for the usage of the
sink to wash dishes for a total estimated flow of 250 gallons per day.

Water History Report:
Card Shop—3254 cu. Ft. water in 13 months. Divide by 13 =250.3 cu. Ft.per month.
Divide by 30 days= 8.34 cu. Ft.per day x 7.5 gallons per cu, Ft. = 62.5 gpd avg.
Ili Nita's Nails and the Rice Bowl(Both of these businesses share the same meter and this
will also be the meter serving the new pool hall)--
19,587 cu. Ft water in 13 months. Divide by 13 = 1506.7 cu. Ft. per month
Divide by 30 days=50.22 cu. Ft.per day x 7.5 gallons per cu.Ft.=377 gpd avg. .
One Ball Jay—8637 ca.Ft.water in 15 months. Divide by 15 =575.8 cu. Ft.per month.
Divide by 30 days= 19.2 cu.Ft. per day x 7.5 gallons per cu. Ft. = 144 gpd avg.

Mr. Leanard Hohman(360-2756473)owns the land south of the establishment that
has a community drain field on it serving the pool hall and other buildings. I have
included water records for the other businesses using this drain field.According to the as-
built information on file there is 988 lin.Ft of drain field that is 2 ft. wide. This makes
1776 sq. it. of absorption area. I have visited the d/f site and dug 3 perk holes determining
that it has a loamy sand type 3 soil. With that application rate of.8 gal/sgft/day, we can
determine the d/f is capable of a peak load of 1420 gpd.and an average load of 938 gpd.
It is currently receiving a total of 580 gpd.Add to that the estimated volume of 250 gpd
from the new pool hall to equal a total of 830 gpd going into the Hohman drain field
This estimated flow falls with in the recommended avg. daily flow that this system
should be able to handle. It is my recommendation that the Allen Pool Hall application be
approved with the following conditions:
1.New low flow toilet be verified
2. Water meter readings at 3 mo.,6mo.,and 1 yr.the 1"year of operation to verify
actual flows. £
Respectfully
