You must address the following to receive approval of your on-site sewage system(OSS)
design proposal:
1. Your design is for a proposed addition to an existing residence. The plans
submitted to the Mason County Building Department show a complete 1-bedroom
residence(1 bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and living room) attached to the
existing residence. The existing and proposed are connected by a garage. I
interpreted your proposal as a plan for a duplex or a second residence. Please
explain.
2. How many bedrooms in the existing residence? The assessor records show the
existing residence has 3-bedrooms. I have a requested a record search to find any
historic Environmental Health records for the parcel.
3. Please locate the existing disposal field and septic tank on the design.
4. If the addition is defined as a second residence, please be aware that the well must
be approved for the additional connection.
5. If the addition is defined as a second residence, Mason County Planning
Department must review your proposal.
