The Mason County Department of Community Development has an open enforcement case on the above listed property for Dangerous Building and Do Not Occupy. In response to a complaint received by this office on December 13, 2006, for possible dangerous building and burried trailer with access, staff investigated above site and posted two (2) Dangerous Building notices and three (3) Do Not Occupy notices. Pursuant to Mason County Code, Title 14, and under the 2006 International Building Code, Section 115.1, this property is currently in violation status of occupancy and use. 2006 International Building Code, Section 115, Unsafe Structures reads: Structures that are or hereafter become unsafe, unsanitary or deficient because of inadequate means of egress facilities, inadequate light and ventilation, or which constitute a fire hazard, or are otherwise dangerous to human life or the public welfare, or that involve illegal or improper occupancy or inadequate maintenance, shall be deemed an unsafe condition. Unsafe structures shall be taken down and removed or made safe. A vacant structure that is not secured against entry shall be deemed unsafe. To bring your site into compliance, you must schedule an inspection. One (1) $64.00 site investigation fee will need to be paid prior to. For every inspection required after that, you will be charged $64.00 again, per inspection, until final inspection and conditions are met. To bring this site into compliance, all doors, windows or entrance must be boarded up and made secure and safe and unable to access. The buried trailer also needs to be removed or boarded up with no access, as this too, is considered an unsafe structure on the property and a possible life safety issue. Inspector noted that the house has been boarded up and access is secure. The buried container has also been secured with a pad lock and is also deemed as secure from entry. I would like to thank you for your cooperation in resolving the building code violation located at 210 NE Chinook Dr., Belfair, WA. The above enforcement case has been closed.
