Subject: SOIL COMPACTION TESTING on the Mary Knight Middle Portable
Classroom Foundation Located at 2987 West Matlock Brady Road, Elma,
WA 98541
On Thursday, April 25, 2024, this geotechnical engineer, licensed in the State of
Washington as a professional civil engineer, completed a site visit at the middle portable
classroom building to check the compaction of the soil underneath the building. A
pointed steel geotechnical probe was used to determine the density of the subgrade and
that this geotechnical engineer was not able to penetrate the subgrade upon which the
portable classroom building was built on indicating adequate compaction.
This subgrade consisted mostly of granular rock and was adequately compacted
resulting in a allowable soil bearing value of at least 1,500 pounds per square foot which
is more than adequate to support the portable class room located in between the other two
existing portables.
Any questions or comments regarding this soils compaction test result can be addressed
to SMorta(@aol.com or by calling this geotechnical engineer directly at(360) 310-0270.
