1) Contractor registration laws are governed under RCW 18.27 and enforced by the WA State Dept of Labor and Industries, Contractor Compliance Division.
There are potential risks and monetary liabilities to the homeowner for using an unregistered contractor. Further information can be obtained at
1-800-647-Q982. T e person signing this condition is either the homeowner, agent for the owner or a registered contractor according to WA state law.

2) All approved plans are required to be on-site for inspection purposes. If an inspection is called for and plans are not available on site, then approval will
not be granted. In addition, a re-inspection fee (refer to current fee schedule, minimum 1 hour)will be charged and must be collected by the Building
Departmen prior to y further inspections being performed or approvals granted.

3) In accordance with international codes and Title 14, Mason County Building Code, "Standards for Fire Apparatus Access Roads,"all new structures that
require an address shall have approved numbers or addresses located at the beginning of long driveways when the address is not clearly visible from the
access road. The numbers shall also be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property and shall contrast with their background.
Mason County Building Department requires that this be completed prior to calling for any site inspections. A re-inspection fee based on rates as adopted
by the jurisdiction and the international codes will be assessed if the owner and/or contractor fail to post the address on site prior to requesting

4) All replacement windows shall have a U-factor of.40 or less. Replacement windows that do not meet current egress conditions shall maintain the same
size opening or better.

5) All exterior wall cavities sed during construction or remodeling work shall be insulated to the full depth of the wall cavity and inspected prior to

6) All construction must meet or exceed all local ordinances and the international codes requirements as adopted and amended by Mason County and the
State of Washington. Occupancy is limited to the approved and permitted classification. Any non-approved change of use or occupancy would result in

7) The construction of the permitted project is subject to inspections by the Mason County Building Department. All construction must be in conformance
with the international codes as amended and adopted by Mason County. Any corrections, changes or alterations required by a Mason County Building
Inspector shall bA a e prior to requesting additional inspections.

a) Fuel piping shall be inspected after the installation of fuel piping is complete, and before the attachment of fixtures, appliances, or shut-off valves. At the
time of inspection the test pressure shall be no less than 10 psi held for no less than 15 minutes. Appliances to be attached to the fuel piping system shall
not be;,ljsed until e final inspection has been performed and approved by a Mason County building inspector.
9) All building permits shall have a final inspection performed and approved by the Mason County Building Department prior to permit expiration. The failure
to request a final inspection or to obtain approval will be documented in the legal property records on file with Mason County as being non-compliant with
Mason County ordina�i=

10) All permits expire 180 days after permit issuance, or 180 days after the last inspection activity is performed. The Building Official may extend the time for
action for a period not exceeding 180 days, upon the receipt of a written extension request indicating that circumstances beyond the control of the permit
holder have preven�d actin from being taken. No more than one extension may be granted.

RE: Site visit on February 22,2005
Dear Mr. and Mrs.Rose,
Per our earlier conversation,I have prepared the following list of items that need to be addressed in order to bring
your project into compliance with Building Department regulations.
Obtain permit for sheetrock,garden sink plumbing,new windows,decking,and new door. �Lb a005" Lp
Frame in and install an exterior-grade door to thermally isolate the heated and unheated portions of the structure.
Remove the untreated decking or install an impervious membrane at the porch off of the living room.
Install a guard around the porch off of living room. A detail is attached for your convenience.
Install Simpson Strong-Tie or equivalent brackets to provide positive connections between the rafter ties and top plate.
4 connections shall be left open for inspector to check, do not cover until approval is given.
Add new stair from porch to grade to permit. A detail is attached for your convenience.
The permit must be issued prior to re-commencing work on the structure. Once the permit is issued,the tape and texture of the
sheetrock may continue as long as the 4 areas where new connectors are to be installed are left open for inspection. A final
inspection for the re-roof permit can be performed at the same time as the inspection for the other remodel work. Please be
sure to have the re-roof permit card available when you schedule your next inspection. Please contact Jenny Nickerson to

the date of this letter. Failure to contact our office to make the necessary scheduled
inspections will result in enforcement actions.
To bring your site into compliance, you must schedule an inspection. One (1) $64.00
site investigation fee will need to be paid prior to inspection along with any
outstanding fees currently due on your building permit. For every inspection required
after that, you will be charged $64.00 again, per inspection until final inspection and
conditions are met.

On 12/24/2007, you were sent a Notice of Mason County Code Violation. This notice outlined the
necessary steps to remedy the violation that is contained on this parcel and specified a timeframe
in which you were to submit the necessary compliance documentation. This due date is now past
due and compliance has riot been achieved.
If the work was completed in absence of the required permits and inspections, either by
you or the former owner, the construction would be deemed to be in violation of Mason County
Codes. This notice is to inform you that your property is in violation status for the work performed.
Mason County holds the current legal owner responsible for any violations that exist on site and
would direct all enforcement notices to you for compliance action if a violation of the building codes
has occurred.
IN ORDER TO CLEAR THESE VIOLATIONS, IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO MAKE THE
NECESSARY ARRANGEMENT WITHIN 21 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THIS NOTICE:

Irregular portions of structures shall be designed in accordance with accepted engineering practice. A portion of a building shall be
considered to be irregular when one or more of the following conditions occur:
1)Exterior braced wall line or BWP cantilevered or offset by more than 4'
2)Roof or floor is not laterally supported on all edges
2A)Portion of roof or floor extend more than 6 ft.beyond the braced wall line.
3)End of BWP extends more than 1 ft.over an opening more than 8 ft in width below.
4)Opening in a floor or roof exceed the lesser of 12 ft.or 50%of the least floor or roof dimension.
5)Portions of floor level are offset vertically
6)Shear wall lines do not occur in two perpendicular directions.
7)When a story above grade is includes masonry or concrete construction(exc: fireplaces,chimneys,and veneer).
When this applies the entire story shall be designed.In accordance with accepted engineering practice.
