PARB60 Fire Marshal Review 5/24/2006 6/8/2006 None DONE LAW 6/8/2006 LAW We met with the owners of the project and the two engineers with Westsound Engineering. The roads as well as the develpoments required two access points are required to meet the Fire apparatus access roads standards per Ordinace No.31-04 Title 14 chapter 14.17.A copy of the standards was given to the applicates. Fire flow and fire hydrants are required for the development per the 2003 IFC.The hydrants are required to be no further than 400 ft.apart.At this time no engineering has been done on the system,I asked that when the engineering is do that we meet to go over the requirements. The applicates wanted to put a key box on the gate out the second access point over the R.R.tracks.I stated that it would work for the Fire Dept.but that it would not would for the home owners if they wanted to use the exit.They asked if they could leave it unlocked with a sign posted(emergency exit only)I stated that this would be acceptable. Lot size may be reduced to 12,500 sf for any lot with a Method II analysis.Some square footage may be added to a lot size for connection to a community drainfield,but is determined on an indivisual basis. Proof of water availability for all proposed lots from Belfair water or other approved public water system(s)will be required prior to short plat approval. We will require that at least one test hole be available each proposed lot. The holes need to be dug according to L&I standards with is at least 2 feet wide,with a ramp for access with at least a 1 ft vertical to 1.5 ft horizontal. The hole can be 5 ft but there needs to be a landing at the four-foot level. Each test hole must be flagged with the proposed lot#. If community septic systems are to be considered, please indicate locations and lots served. Representatives for the Fire Marshal's Office, Building Department, Environmental Health, Planning, and Public Works Departments may attend the meeting to discuss rules and regulations applicable to the proposed project.
