Dear Mr. Yrando:
We have reviewed the Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) for the above proposal
and we offer the following comments:
We recommend the proponent access State Route 3 from the existing approach of
Log Yard Road. The proponent has applied for a General Permit from WSDOT to
improve sight distance at SR 3 and Log Yard Road, by cutting down the existing
bank. The permit application at this time is being reviewed.
Additional surface water runoff generated by development of the property must not
be directed to the State Highway right-of-way. The Department requests the
opportunity to review drainage plans when they become available.
The Department will not be responsible for noise attenuation if the subject property
experience noise levels in excess of the maximum allowed for the proposed land use.
Advertising signs visible from an adjacent State Highway must comply with the
State Scenic Vistas Act of 1971, which is administered by the Department. For
information regarding the signing regulations, contact Jack Smith in the District 3
Traffic Operations office at (206) 357-2620.
