Septic Design*Wetlands*Site Planning V=avation 901 L Street, Centralia, WA 98531 Phone:(360)219-3343 May 13,2024 Prepared For: Tom Roth 1537 NW Woodbine Way Seattle,WA 98177 J.Rm,r Site Address: 760 E Lane,Shelton County:Mason APPROVED Tax Parcel Number:32021-56-02039 JUL 2 6 2024 MASON COUNTY EWRONMENTAL HEALTH Purpose: RET A site and soil evaluation was completed for the property located at 760 E Wood Lane in Shelton on May 14,2024 by Environmental Design,I.L.C.The purpose of the site and soil evaluation is to determine the suitability of an On-Site Wastewater system. In order to determine if a site is suitable a minimum of three test pits were dug and evaluated for suitability. The site was evaluated to determine that the slope and size were suitable and to determine if the proposed on-site wastewater would be able to meet county and Washington State WAC 246-272A regulations. Proposal: The client is proposing a 3-bedroom residence on the site to be served by an on-site septic system. For a 3-bedroom system the estimated wastewater produced is 360 gallons per day based on the calculation of each bedroom producing 120 gallons per day. Site Description: The site is currently vacant land. The site is in Section 21 Township 20 North of Range 03 West. Hydrology: The site appears to be well drained. There did not appear to be any areas of ponding at the site or in the area of the proposed drainfield. Water Source: The water source will be a proposed community water connection. The water line will be located 30 feet away from the proposed On-Site Wastewater system or the transport line will be sleeved to meet the requirements of WAC 246-272A. Soil Description: According to the Natural Resources Conservation Service INKS)the property soil is mapped as Shelton Gravelly Sandy Loam. The test pit profile did not appear to be consistent with the mapped series. The NRCS describes the Shelton Gravelly Sandy Loam series as a very extensive soil. The surface has an organic layer about 1 to 2 inches in depth. The upper surface is friable, weakly granular and brown gravelly sandy locate extending a depth of 3 to 4 inches. The following layer is a strong brown to a nearly I Job Number:2024-021 Client Name:Roth ! reddish yellow gravelly sandy loam extending about 4 inches in depth and has a weak granular structure. The following subsoil is reddish-yellow very gravelly, sandy loam extending a depth of 25 inches. The following layer is a gravelly till layer. Test Pit Description: In order to complete a site and soil evaluation according to WAC 246-272A a minimum of three test pits need to be evaluated. For this site a total of 3 test pits were evaluated and labeled in the field for the locations of the On-Site Wastewater System. The test pits are as described below: Test Pit#1 0-33" Brown loamy medium sand, moderate subangular blocky structure 33-38" Gray coarse sand, cemented, common distinct medium mottles Restrictive at 33"due to seasonal high water I Test Pit A P 0-24" Brown loamy medium sand, moderate subangular blocky structure ROVED 24-33" Cemented, common distinct medium mottles Restrictive at 24"due to seasonal high water IUl_ 2 6 2024 Test Pit N3 MASON COUNTYENVIR..MENTAL HEALTH 0-34" Brown loamy medium sand, moderate subangular blocky structure RET 34-40" Gray coarse sand, cemented, common distinct medium mottles Restrictive at 34"due to seasonal high water Soil Loadina Rate: The type of soil appears to be Type 4 with a soil loading rate of 0.6 according to WAC 246-272A. System Requirements: The site appears to be suitable for pressure trench with secondary treatment system in the proposed drainfield location. The system requirements are concluded based on the suitability of the soil, the slope of the site and the site conditions. Conclusion: The site described as 760 E Wood Lane in Shelton appears to have a slope of about 5%in the proposed drainfield area. The site has a suitable soil depth of 20" in the proposed drainfield location and is suitable for a pressure trench with secondary treatment to serve the proposed residence.
