The Geotechnical Assessment for BLUE STAR PROPERTIES LLC has been received and
reviewed by the Planning Department. The assessment was prepared by Michael Staten dated
8/29/2007.
Based on the certification provided by the licensed engineer/geologist, the referenced Geological
Assessment was prepared in general accordance with the requirements in the Mason County
Resource Ordinance, Landslide Hazard Areas 17.01.100.EA. Mason County considers the review
valid until such time as scope of project, site conditions, and/or regulations change. Should the
scope of work, site conditions, and/or regulations change after the original review, then an
addendum from the original author of the assessment may be required to address these changes.
The assessment would only be re-reviewed if a permit for development were submitted after these
changes occur. Mason County does not certify the quality of the work done in this Geological
Assessment.

This letter summarizes our site observations and data review for the Blue-Star Re-
Grade Project, Phase 1 for proposed site development. We previously visited the site and
provided geotechnical documents in a earlier phase of the project in 2009. Included in our
current review was the geotechnical engineering recommendations and design criteria for
the current and next phase of site development, provided by Envirotech Engineering in
2007. We previously visited the site and explored the subsurface conditions by performed
test pits and infiltration tests on a nearby parcel. A copy of the proposed site layout is
illustrated on the attached map, Figure C1.0.
Based on our previous experienced in the site area, our review of the project plans
and the previously geotechnical report, it is our opinion that there have been no significant
changes in site conditions and that the proposed site development remains feasible as
previously described.
