paid$1700 in 2011. Money is used to purchase toiletries, light refreshments and basic supplies to hold the
event. Cmmr.Jeffreys asked for a budget.
• Risk Management—Support staff training conference in June. Because travel was removed from the Current
Expense budgets staff is asking if departments can send staff to this training,if money is available in other
budget lines. Although the Commissioners can appreciate the need for required training, this is not that type
of training and with the budget situation, they declined sending staff. Dawn Twiddy will participate in the
operation of the training because that is how Mason County has access to the TRAIN trainers.

Commissioners Jeffreys and Sheldon were in attendance. Commissioner Neatherlin was absent.
The following items were reviewed:
• Judge Sheldon explained that Superior Court has submitted jury costs for payment from the Legal Reserve#2
Fund. Judge Sheldon recited the history of the fund and noted that the original resolution contained language
that the fund is for extraordinary murder expenses however when the resolution was modified, this language
was not included. There have been a number of murders, which is unusual,so the additional jury costs were
not budgeted in the Superior Court budget. There was discussion of tracking murder costs in all departments,
which should be possible with the new financial system. The Board approved paying the jury costs from the
Legal Reserve Fund 92 Fund.
Respectfully submitted,
Diane Zoren,Assistant to the Commissioners
