Monday,January 20,2014 No briefings due to the Martin Luther King,Jr.Holiday Tuesday,January 21,2014 10:00 A.M. Executive Session—RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)—Potential Litigation Commissioners Jeffreys, Sheldon and Neatherlin met in Executive Session from 10:00 a.m.to 10:37 a.m.with Tim Whitehead,Brian Matthews and Tom Moore. 10:30 A.M. Executive Session-RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)—Potential Litigation Commissioners Jeffreys, Sheldon and Neatherlin met in Executive Session from 10:38 a.m.to 11:00 a.m.with Tim Whitehead,Brian Matthews, Tom Moore,Melissa McFadden,Cathe Bennett and Loretta Swanson. Cmmr. Sheldon left to attend the legislature at 10:50 a.m. 11:00 A.M. Closed Session Commissioners Jeffreys and Neatherlin met with Bill Kenny in Closed Session from 11:10 a.m.to 11:25 a.m. Cmmr. Sheldon was absent. 11:30 A.M. Shelton Skookum Rotary Club Foundation—Patti Case Commissioners Jeffreys and Neatherlin met with Patti Case and Bob Miller from the Shelton Skookum Rotary Club Foundation(SSRCF)to discuss a proposed Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)to facilitate a plan for an event center,which could host a fair. This does not commit the County to anything except to provide information we may have on the fairgrounds and provides for a seat at the discussion table. The MOU is with the County, SSRCF and the Port of Shelton. The goal is to develop a plan to move the fairgrounds so the Port of Shelton will agree to a short-term lease of the present fairgrounds until a new event center is open. Cmmr. Sheldon expressed some concerns with the MOU language and Patti Case will work with the Commissioner on language amendments so the MOU can be placed on the agenda for approval. NOON BREAK 2:00 P.M. Sheriff's Office—Sheriff Salisbury/Undersheriff Barrett/Frank Pinter Commissioners Jeffreys and Neatherlin met with Sheriff Salisbury,Undersheriff Barrett and Bill Kenny to discuss the MCSO Finance Manager position which has been vacated. At the Sheriff s request,the Civil Service reclassified the current Finance Manager position to an appointed unclassified service position. The Sheriff informed the Board he intends to appoint a person as Chief Financial/Administrative Deputy.
