Commissioners Jeffreys and Neatherlin met with Patti Case and Bob Miller from the
Shelton Skookum Rotary Club Foundation(SSRCF)to discuss a proposed Memorandum
of Understanding(MOU)to facilitate a plan for an event center, which could host a fair.
This does not commit the County to anything except to provide information we may have
on the fairgrounds and provides for a seat at the discussion table. The MOU is with the
County, SSRCF and the Port of Shelton. The goal is to develop a plan to move the
fairgrounds so the Port of Shelton will agree to a short-term lease of the present
fairgrounds until a new event center is open. Cmmr. Sheldon expressed some concerns
with the MOU language and Patti Case will work with the Commissioner on language
amendments so the MOU can be placed on the agenda for approval.
