9:00 A.M. Closed Session—RCW 42.30.140 (4)Labor Discussion
Commissioners Neatherlin and Jeffreys met in Closed Session with Bill Kenny&Frank Pinter
from 9:00 a.m.to 9:30 a.m. Commissioner Sheldon was absent.
9:30 A.M. Public Works-Brian Matthews&Melissa McFadden
Utilities&Waste Management-Brian Matthews/Erika Schwender
Commissioners Neatherlin and Jeffreys were in attendance. Cormnissioner Sheldon was absent.
® Set hearing on July 14 for a Private Line Occupancy Permit(PLOP)with Francis Milette for a
septic transport line in Tahuya.
® Set hearing on July 14 to consider changing the school speed zone on Sand Hill Road.
® Reminder there is a hearing on June 16 for a PLOP with Jim Hunter.
® Bid results for the Eddie Evers Bridge paint project came in quite a bit higher than estimated.
Public Works has requested additional funding. Melissa also mentioned the possibility of using
some of the ER&R payback money. Commissioners asked to hold on awarding at this point.
• The sign truck is broke down and staff asked to swap the amount budgeted for a new crew truck in
order to purchase a new sign truck.
® Melissa provided an update for the proposed Tractor Drive. She let the organizer know that the
Board wants the route shorter so no going around Mason Lake,identify six pull outs, and if they
are holding up more than five vehicles,they need to pull over. Melissa will work with the
organizer. The Board approved moving forward with the event.
• Groundwater monitoring at the Mason County Landfill.
® Loretta provided an update on Simmons Road regarding the management of traffic leaving the
Tribal gas station. Staff will work with the Tribe on signing the area.
® Discussion of the potential(depending on funding)Taylor Towne interchange improvements and
process.
® Update for the Skokomish General Investigation Study. The Corps is trying to schedule a 15
minute technical presentation in WA DC, at the end of July.
The Board took a 10 minute break.
10:00 A.M. Executive Session—RCW 42.30.110 (1)(i)Litigation
Commissioners Neatherlin and Jeffreys met in Executive Session from 10:00 a.m.to 10:35 a.m.
with Tim Whitehead,Brian Mathews,Erika Schwender and Frank Pinter. Cmmr. Sheldon was
absent.

Commissioners Neatherlin and Jeffreys were in attendance. Commissioner Sheldon was absent.
® Area Agency on Aging applicant Susan Ickes. Board approved appointing Susan.
® Amateur Radio Week Proclamation will be on next week's agenda.
® 2016 Budget Guidelines were discussed. Cmmr.Neatherlin would like salaries and benefits
budgeted with a separate bottom line.
• Schedule briefing with Public Health regarding 2163 &2060 funding what options/alternatives
there are for the funding and is the Housing Coalition required by law.
® Lodging Tax Advisory Committee appointment. The Commissioners agreed to appoint Heidi and
Arnold to the LTAC.
® Cmmr.Neatherlin would like to develop some type of recognition they could present to volunteers
at any time of the year. Diane will develop a certificate of appreciation.

2:00 P.M. Civil Service Interviews
Commissioners Neatherlin and Jeffreys interviewed the following individuals for a position on the
Civil Service Commission: B.Dean Byrd,Cheryl Williams&Michael Foster. Cmmr. Sheldon
was absent.
Commissioner Discussion—Commissioners Neatherlin and Jeffreys were in attendance.
Commissioner Sheldon was absent.
• The Board asked the Civil Service appointment be placed on next week's agenda as Item 10.1 and
they will brief the topic on Monday.
• Discussion of a park n ride in Belfair.
• Discussion of changing the regulations to allow a building permit exemption for buildings 850
square feet or smaller. The Commissioners requested Diane to remind Barbara Adkins they would
like to see proposed language for a code change.
