RE: Ernest Ayers proposal to repair existing road between residence
and beach. Mason County Building Permit #GRD95-0035 .
Dear Shelly:
Mr. Ernest Ayers has requested a grading permit to repair a
concrete slab road that was damaged by drainage water and is
located between his residence and above the OHWM of the beach. The
property is located east of a Bald Eagle nest . Mike Byrne, Building
Director and myself inspected the proposal today when we met with
Mr. Ayers and his contractor, Earl Lincoln. The nesting tree is
located on the adjacent property to the west of Mr. Ayers property.
Mr. Ayers has observed that the eagles have left the site and they
have not been observed for some time there.
Mr. Ayers wants to have Earl Lincoln repair the road the first week
of August, next week. He also intends to do some bulkhead repair on
the beach in the near future. He does not feel it will impact the
bald eagles as they are not there now and will probably return in
the winter. We are able to issue the permit now as a repair and I
informed the owner and contractor that I would need to have you
review this prior to our approval .
