1) Owner/builder assumes all responsibility if drainfield/reserve area is encumbered. X
2) All upland areas disturbed or newly r ted by construction activities shall be seeded, vegetated or given an equivalent type of erosion protection (silt
fencing or straw matting). X

5) In accordance with the Uniform Building Code, all sites shall have approved numbers or addresses located in such a position as to be plainly visible and
legible from the street or road fronting the property. Mason County Building Department requires that this be completed prior to calling for any site
inspections. A re-inspection fee based on rates as adopted by the jurisdiction and the Uniform Building Code will be assessed if the owner and/or
contrac fail post the address on site prior to requesting inspections.

15) All permits expire 180 days after permit issuance, or 180 days after the last inspection activity is performed. The Building Official may extend the time
for action for a period not exceeding 180 days, upon the receipt of a written extension request indicating that circumstances beyond the control of the
permit h er ave prevented action from being taken. No more than one extension may be granted.

This permit becomes null and void if work or construction authorized is not commenced within 180 days, or if construction or work is suspended for a period of 180 days at any time after
work is commenced. Evid ce of continuation of work is a progress inspection within the 180 day period. Final inspection must be approved before building can be occupied.

15-2004 to determine compliance with 1997 Uniform Building Code. Note

2. Analysis&Design of revised structural system, members and connections to
insure structural integrity of the building.

b. Use bracing from west wall top plate to trusses and roof diaphragm to
provide load path to transfer lateral wind load from RV addition to

Dear Mr. And Mrs. Savage,
Our office received a complaint regarding non-permitted construction at 643 NE
Old Belfair Hwy, Belfair, WA located on the above described parcel of land situated
within Mason County. According the Mason County Assessor records, you are the
current Title Owner and Taxpayer of this parcel. Pursuant to Mason County Ordinance
45-99, a permit for this type of activity would be required under the 1997 Uniform
Building Code and your property is currently in violation status.
From the information received on the complaint and notations made by the
inspector during two site investigation on 07/14/03 and 07/17/03, when Stop Work
Orders were posted, it appears that the work does require applicable permits. (Photos are
attached) and that you additionally violated the first and second stop work orders by
continuing construction which are separate violations of the Mason County Code. You
were informed of this information on 7/17/03 at which time you agreed to apply for the
permit by July 24, 2003. To date,there is no record of submittal as agreed.
To bring your site into compliance you must either apply for and obtain a new
permit for the after the fact construction or obtain a demolition permit and remove the
illegal construction. Please make the necessary arrangements to apply for the required
After the Fact permits within 30 days of the date of this notice or prior to September 6,
2003. If you should have questions about the information needed on the submittal plans
to process your permit, please contact Jenny Nickerson, Plans Examiner at(360)427-

In the event that you feel you have received this notice in error or that the contents

The Mason County Department of Community Development is currently reviewing all
permits that are expired and have not been approved for occupancy and use.
Pursuant to Mason County Code, Title 14 Building and Construction, a permit and
final inspection for this type of activity is required under the 2006 International
Building Code or the code your permit was issued and your property is currently in
violation status of occupancy and use.
Please contact our office to make the necessary arrangements 21 days from
the date of this letter. Failure to contact our office to make the necessary scheduled
inspections will result in enforcement actions.
To bring your site into compliance, you must schedule an inspection. One (1) $64.00
site investigation fee will need to be paid prior to inspection along with any
outstanding fees currently due on your building permit. For every inspection required
after that, you will be charged $64.00 again, per inspection until final inspection and
conditions are met.
