Re: Bear Creek DeWatto Road Property:
Date: November 17, 2004
Dear Kristin,
Connie and I have decided that there are several things that need to happen for us
to feel comfortable paying over $1500 just to have our delineation reviewed, but
not necessarily approved
First we want this letter to serve as a formal, written complaint in regard to the
properties located above us and below us on Bear Creek DeWatto Road. Since
your department has classified our property as a CONTINUOUS upland wetland it
is our assumption that both our neighbors land is part of that described
ecosystem. This , of course, is the source of our confusion and frustration.
The property owner above us clear cut ALL the trees from his land (including OLD
growth cedars) denuded and destroyed every fern, salal, skunk cabbage, wetland
grasses, berry bushes, ALL undergrowth/ground cover and created a dirt motocross
bike track for his children. We are having trouble believing this was an approved/
permitted process. As a result of this desecration of his land,
excessive ground water and mud now flows onto our property from his.
Likewise the neighbor below us removed ALL trees, ground cover, and wetland
plants from his property; cut into the hillside, installed a massive rock retaining
wall and French drain to divert the wetland water flow on his property.
We want these properties investigated by you department and we want our plan re-
viewer to be aware of the desecration of the land surrounding us. Lastly, we want
to meet with the Plan Reviewer prior to paying his formal review fee so we can
discuss our concerns and observations. Please contact me if this letter can not
serve as a formal complaint and I need to fill out a form; and please provide me
with the contact information so I may make an appointment to meet with our Plan
Reviewer. Thank you for your time n consideration.
