The mitigation proposed would compensate for impacts to four wetlands adjacent to the existing road and connect a previously intact wetland which was divided by the construction of the existing road. 2) The Mitigation Plan includes the creation and reestablishment of 21,631 square feet of wetland, 13,677 square feet of buffer enhancement and 47,990 square feet of buffer preservation. Construct and realign 2.7 miles of county road in northeastern Mason County on the Bear Creek Dewatto Road, near Tiger Lake. Estimated excavation quantity is 182,000 cubic yards,while estimated fill is 123,000 cubic yards. Install three major culverts on streams in the area,one being designed for fish passage.The project will cause filling of 9,962 square feet of Category III wetland. Approximately 4,700 lineal feet of II� existing road will be decommissioned. This involves asphalt removal and scarifying to a depth of one foot. Work to be accomplished with excavators, crawler tractors and dump trucks. 12. What is the location of the proposal. Give sufficient information for a person to understand the precise location of your proposed project, including a street address, if any, and section,township, and range, if known. If a proposal would occur over a range of area, provide the range or boundaries of the site(s). Provide a legal description, site plan,vicinity map, and topographic map, if reasonably available. While you should submit any plans required by the agency, you are not required to duplicate maps or detailed plans submitted with any permit applications related to this checklist. There are three streams (all intermittent)and four seasonally inundated wetlands immediately adjacent to the project. For our purposes,"ESA listed salmonids" is defined as fish species listed as endangered,threatened or being considered for listing. If ESA listed species are present or ever were present in the watershed where your project will be located,your project has the potential for affecting them,and you need to comply with the ESA. The question in this section will help determine if the ESA listings will impact your project. The Fish Program Manager at the appropriate Department of Fish and Wildlife(DFW)regional office can provide information for the following two questions 1. SHORELANDS&WETLANDS: Sarah Lukas(360)407-7459 The proposed road realignment will require authorization from both Ecology as well as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In review of our records,Ecology has not received a Joint Aquatic Resource Permit Application(JARPA)for this proposal. I suggest the applicant apply by submitted a JARPA to both the above agencies. Along with the DARPA,the applicant should also submit site plans,vicinity maps,a wetland delineation report,and a wetland mitigation proposal.
