Pre-New Development Vegetated Buffer Description
The yard area subject to the 115 shoreline buffer is characterized by a dense
stand of Douglas Fir and Hemlock with underbrush of Salal, Huckleberry and
Rhododendron along the South side of the property. There are three levels down
the center of the buffer with alternating mature Rhododendrons and Cotoneaster
groundcover together with areas of moss and sparse lawn. The North side of the
property is planted primarily with Cotoneaster. The proposed addition of 352
square feet will not displace any native plants.
Proposed Buffer Mitigation for Home Addition
Boat Shed garden area of 334 square feet on the shoreline shall be planted with
a selection of"Plants for the Lakeshore" as listed in the Mason County
Conservation District.
