CHANGE IN TENANT APPLICATION
Complete the Change in Tenant Application and return with a floor plan,site plan,septic pumper's report,septic records and
fee to the Mason County Permit Center, P.O. Box 186, Shelton, WA 98584. Evaluation of the Change in Tenant Application will involve
staff members from the Building, Fire Marshal, Environmental Health, Planning and Public Works offices who will identify compliance
requirements. This application is intended for tenant change only. If construction or remodeling is proposed or required a building
permit will be necessary. Upon approval the permit will be issued to the applicant/tenant. After the permit is issued, schedule an
inspection by calling (360)427-7262. Upon satisfactory inspection a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued and must be posted in a
conspicuous place on the premises.

On April 5, 2004,Planner Rick Mraz mailed a Notification of Incomplete Application to you in
response to Tenant Review Application COM2004-00059. Rick's notes indicate that the
application submitted for commercial development on parcel number 1230942-00030 cannot be
approved. The property is zoned Rural Residential 5. The permitted use-types within this zoning
designation are extremely limited(review Mason County Development Regulations section
1.04.222—copy enclosed). The current use of an accessory structure on the parcel as a retail
candy shop constitutes a violation of Development Regulations section 1.04.222.
To achieve compliance with this section,all commercial uses that are not wholly incidental and
subordinate to the residential use of the property(Mason County Comprehensive Plan Policy RU
524A) and that do not comply with Mason County Development Regulations section 1.03.021
(Cottage Industries—copy enclosed)must be discontinued immediately.
Please submit documentation of compliance by June 29, 2004. Acceptable documentation will
include a signed statement detailing that the business activity in question has been discontinued,
and photo evidence demonstrating that the exterior of the accessory structure has been modified
to reflect the discontinuation of the business activity. You can mail the documentation to: Mason
