HomeMy WebLinkAbout2 Level Stucture for Boat Storage Platforms - BLD Letters / Memos - 9/14/2001 g- 3o - ol August 28,2001 Roberta Laakso,et al. 6109 Ridgeview Dr. Aberdeen,WA 98520-7929 RE: Boat storage unit on tax parcel number 32234-34-00010 Dear Ms. Laakso: This letter follows a site visit that I conducted August 23,2001 in response to a complaint regarding an open, two level structure composed of railroad tie type posts connected by beams to create boat storage platforms. The following addresses my observations and conclusions following the site visit to tax parcel number 32234-34-00010. The Mason County Shoreline Master Program provides that"[s]etback for any structure greater than 30 inches above average grade shall be behind the common line." I have included a copy of Chapter 7.26.080 from the Shoreline Master Program for your review. The common line concept is illustrated by the schematic on page 51. During my site visit, I observed and documented boat storage structure over 30 inches in height located forward of the common line. I am writing to request that the structure be removed to achieve compliance with the Shoreline Master Program. An alternative to this would be to relocate the structure behind the common line. If you choose to relocate the structure, please consult with the Mason County Building Department at(360)427-9670 ext. 284 to determine if a permit is required. If you need assistance in establishing the common line, contact Kristin Riebli at(360)427-9670 ext. 281 to request a site visit application. Please provide the following to me by September 20, 2001: y Documentation of removal of the structure or relocation behind common line(or) - Written explanation regarding failure to remove the structure. Thank you for our anticipated cooperation. If you have questions or concerns regarding this Y Y P P Y q g 8 matter, please contact me at(360)427-9670 ext. 593. When calling, please reference your tax parcel number in bold text above. Sincerely, Kristin French Code Enforcement 1 { ql, (41o17 A hit V i r - 2 N • - D a s
