Per Mason County Code,Title 14,Chapter 14.48 a stormwater site plan is required whenever a building application is

'Redevelopment means,on an already developed site, the creation or addition of impervious surfaces, structural development
including construction, installation or expansion of a building or other structure, and/or replacement of impervious surface that is not

'Common impervious surfaces include, but are not limited to,rooftops, walkways, patios, driveways, parking lots or storage areas,
concrete or asphalt paving, gravel roads, packed earthen materials, and oiled, macadam or other surfaces which similarly impede the

Hi Trish,
Here is what the builder said:
Header will be 4"x6" minimum, hope to use 4"x8". Depends on space.
So this is not what is existing but what we will use when we take out the existing window.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: Deck
Mr. & Mrs. Fister,
have reviewed the permit application for the deck extension and window to door change out.The
following items need to be addressed prior to approval:
1. Is the header at the window existing or new?The note on the plan documents states "header is
4"x 6" minimum.Just clarity needed is it new or existing? Has the size been verified? This can be
addressed with an email response.
2. Regarding the deck. In review we found the deck design meets the prescriptive code as a new
deck on its own. However, as an extension of the existing deck it must be reviewed and approved
by an engineer to address the lateral and gravity loads as the effect the existing deck. Please
provide your drawings to an engineer to review, comments, stamp and provide calculations. The
revised documents can be emailed directly to me at tw@masoncountywa.gov .
Kind Regards,
Tricia Woolett
