Reference: Geotechnical Site Assessment for Property Located at 6380 E Grapeview Loop Road,
Allyn,Washington
To Whom It May Concern,
Envirotech Engineering, PLLC has completed a site assessment of the general soils and surface
conditions for the referenced property. This site assessment was partially based on a site visit performed
on December 19, 2018 in order to evaluate geological hazards, and identify the feasibility of new
construction on the referenced property.
The property is currently fully developed with a single family residence, driveway, septic features and
other ancillary features typical of this type of development. The existing carport is planned to be replaced
with an addition.
The bluff was observed on the property with a gradient of approximately 60 degrees. The existing house
is located between the steep slope and the proposed addition,and the new addition was measured to be 48
feet from the top of the bluff. Soils within the bluff were observed to be approximately 12 inches of silty
sand with gravel(SM)overlying very dense glacial till(hardpan).
It is our conclusion that the proposed residential addition is at a safe distance from the bluff if future
landslides or bluff erosion occurs for the design life of the structure. Furthermore, we believe that the
addition will not increase the instability of the slope. Thank you for the opportunity to work on this
