In order to complete the building department review additional information will be needed which is listed below. When you have compiled the requested information please submit the information to the Mason County Building Department, attention D. Coker. PLAN REVIEW REQUIREMENT COMMENTS: 1. Some of the details for the deck and stair plans are not legible and some details are missing, i.e. gazebo deck framing, stair, handrail and guardrail detail. Three pages of faxed, engineered drawings were received with the permit application. They are not legible. Please provide a legible wet-stamped copy of the engineered drawings. 2. Vertical and lateral calculations prepared by the engineer of record will be required. Include grade and species of the materials proposed in the engineered calculations. In addition, it appears that posts supporting some of the landings may exceed 10 feet in height. Engineered calculations will be required for all posts that exceed 10 feet in height. 3. The Geotechnical Report prepared by GeoResources of Fife, Washington specifies stairway support including a pipe pile foundation. Mason County will require a special inspection of the foundation system,performed by the geotechnical engineer of record. In addition Mason County may require a special inspection of the lateral bracing. The special inspection may be performed by the engineer of record, Howe Engineering. A special inspection authorization form is enclosed which will be used to acknowledge our agreement concerning special inspections. Please return the signed authorization form. To complete the information requested your engineer or architect will need the following information to complete an engineered analysis: Snow load: 25 psf Wind load: 80 mph, exp "C" Seismic zone: 3 It has come to my attention that the project, as originally proposed, may be altered as a result of the Planning Department review. Revisions to the building plans will require a re- review by all applicable departments. If building plans are revised submit three sets of building plans, engineered calculations, and a letter acknowledging the revisions from the geothechnical engineer of record.
