Dear Mr. Salzar,
This is in reference to Sand Hill Elementary fire alarm permit application. Battery calculations
cannot be provided for the following reason:
1. The addition of 4 new smoke detectors presents a load to the batteries (approximately 100
ten-thousandths of an amp each) that is below the threshold of the calculation formula and
will not affect the standby capacity of the system in any material way.
2. The effect of the addition of these 4 new smoke detectors will have no measurable effect
on the standby capacity of the existing system.

Strobes - The ADA-compliant SpectrAlert strobes are elec-
tronic visible warning signals that flash at 1 Hz over their operating I�ybtii
voltage range. These products are available in 24-volt models at
15, 15/75,75 and 110 candela intensities and in 12-volt models at
15 and 15/75 candela intensities. The strobe series includes weath-
erproof models. SpectrAlert products feature dramatic reductions
in current requirements.
Sync-Circuit Module (MDL)-The Sync-Circuit Module
is available for synchronization of strobes and horns and can syn-
chronize two Style Y (class B) circuits or one Style Z (class A)
circuit. The module can also generate a synchronized temp 3 tone
for System Sensor's Multi-AIertTM and PA400 horn products.' The
synchronization module allows the SpectrAlert horns on combina-
tion horn/strobes to be silenced on two-wire systems. SpectrAlert's
Sync-Circuit Module can be daisy-chained for multiple zone syn-
chronization. The module does not operate on a coded power sup-
ply.

of air within the sealed chamber faster than it can escape
through a calibrated vent. The resultant increase in pres-
sure depresses the diaphragm,causing the electrical con-
tact to close the circuit. HD-600 rate-of-rise units have a
wide spacing allowance of 50-foot (15.24-meter) centers.

Fixed-temperature elements react to heat by responding
to a specific temperature setting. The fixed-temperature
element uses a fusible alloy. When activated,the external
heat collector drops away to provide quick visual confirma-
tion that the element has operated.
The units protrude only 1-3/8" (34.925 mm)from the ceil-
ing surface with a junction box mounting. They have pleas-
ing contours and an all-white finish that conforms to ceiling
aesthetics.

• Models HD-601/HD-621 and HD-602/HD-622 can be tested by the application of quick heat from any convenient
source. A portable hair dryer is recommended. However, do not apply heat that exceeds the fixed-temperature rating
of the detector.
• Models HD-603/HD-623 and'HD-604/HD-624 cannot be tested. However, the fusible alloy element is generally con-
sidered so reliable that testing is not necessary.
