WHEREAS , a petition was received from Fire Protection District
#5 for withdrawal of a half section of land ;
WHEREAS , two notices of public hearing were published in the
Shelton—Mason County Journal on February 19 & 26 , per RCW 57 . 28 . 070 ;
WHEREAS , the findings in reference to RCW 57 . 28 . 080 are as
noted below :
1 . The territory to be withdrawn is presently covered for fire
protection by the Department of Natural Resources .
2 . There will be no change of benefit to the above mentioned
parcel .
3 . Since that parcel of land being withdrawn is the only parcel in
Fire District #5 which is also in the Skokomish Flood Control
District , it greatly affects District #5 tax revenues because of the
$9 . 15 tax limitations .
4 - It appears that such territory to be withdrawn was not
improvidently included in the fire district at the time of
annexation .
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED , that the N 1 /2 Section
18 , Township 21 North , Range 3 West be removed from the boundaries
of Mason County Fire Protection District #5 .
