Complainant came to counter and said construction occurred in a Category 3 stream buffer and breezeway violates planning side yard setback regulations. Said the owner is just trying to increase footprint so
that when he goes to replace his structure it wi 11 appear larger than it really was. I told them that the violation is also planning and originally it was not called in that way. I will refer it to KLF

2/1/05-spoke with woman at(949)248-5522. Advised that they will need to resolve BID-related questions with Tami Griffey(forwarded their voice mail question regarding structural alterations to TG). I
also advised that even if structure is modified so that a BLD application is not required,non-BLDrequired structures are still not permitted within regulated buffers/property line setbacks,etc,so I'd have to
evaluate an accurate site plan in any event.klf.
***Bill Abrams advised that they will be up the weekend of 2/12/05 to resolve this issue.klf.

Dear Kristin,
As you know a county inspector had stapled a notice on our back porch because of a
covering we had added between the covered house porch and the carport to keep our boat
from getting rained on. The boat is stored in the car port but the front part sticks out.
When we visited the house in February,we removed the boards and plastic sheets.
The enclosed photos show the area both before and after we removed the covering in
February so you can see they were taken down.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Abrams:
On October 20, 2004, Inspector Larry Kelly posted a Stop Work Order on the above
referenced parcel to address unpermitted construction of a breezeway connecting the
residence to the carport. Building Permit approval is required if you wish to retain the
breezeway structure. The complainant expressed concerns regarding the structure's
location relative to the Category III Stream buffer and side yard setback area. If you have
questions regarding the application of Planning Department regulations to the breezeway
construction, you can apply to have a pre-inspection performed. A pre-inspection
application form is enclosed.
Alternatively, you can move ahead with Building Permit submittal, and the Planning
Department issues will be evaluated in conjunction with the Building Permit review. A
Mason County Building Permit application is enclosed for your use.
Please submit either a complete Building Permit application or a pre-inspection
application by January 14, 2005. To avoid submittal requirements, you can remove the
breezeway structure in question and provide compliance photographs documenting
removal by January 14, 2005. Photographs can be e-mailed to me at:
