The project includes bank protection of approximately 50 feet of the bank with a combination of large rock already existing on site and plantable geo ex I e bags filled with gravel or planting soil. Materials required: 8 3-man rocks, 315 Flex MSE bags, 13 cubic yards of gravel and soil combined. Existing Use (identify current use of property with exist improvements): The property is residential. Reason for requesting development: In October of 2018 the bulkhead on this property was removed in an effort to restore the natural shoreline. a project was successful In restoring the upper beach thata een covered due o the fill behind the bulkhead however, the bank has continued to erode due to underground freshwater seeps. I his repair project, alms to maintain the location ot the current toe o s ope which Is now above the ordinary high water mark. The applicant shall provide, at a minimum, the following information: a. SITE PLAN -drawn to scale and including: i. The boundary of the parcel(s)of land upon which the development is proposed; ii. The ordinary high water mark (OHWM). This may be an approximate location provided, that for any development where a determination of consistency with the applicable regulations requires a precise location of the OHWM the mark shall be located precisely and the biological and hydrological basis for the location as indicated on the plans shall be included in the development plan.Where the OHWM is neither adjacent to or within the boundary of the project, the plan shall indicate the distance and direction to the nearest OHWM of a shoreline; iii. Where appropriate, the proposed land contours using five-foot intervals in water area and ten-foot intervals on areas landward of OHWM, if development involves grading, cutting,filling, or other alteration of land contours; iv. The dimensions and location of existing structures which will be maintained; V. The dimensions and locations of proposed structures; parking and landscaping; vi. The location of proposed utilities, such as sewer, septic tanks and drain fields,water, gas and electricity; vii. The location, source, composition, and volume of fill material; viii. The location, composition and volume of any extracted materials, and proposed disposal area; b. CROSS SECTION, drawn to scale including: i. The existing ground elevations; ii. Z V was removed seeps were exposed and the saturated soils eroded more quickly than predicted.The result is an upper beach with prime forage O fish spawning habitat.The proposed adaptive management project will use-8 large anchor rocks remaining from the original project along the r z ❑~ U) tT section of eroding bank with the highest face 1-4 feet).FIexMSE geotextile bags filled with gravel or planting soil will be used to protect the remaining exposed eroding bank.The project also includes placement of excavated soils as beach nourishment material,beach access stairs constructed with FIexMSE bags and surfaced with slate pavers,and drainage improvements behind the rock seat wall on the slope above the beach.The flaxMSE bags will be planted with shoreline vegetation.
