FOR FEDERALLY LICENSED OR PERMITTED ACTIVITIES

Applicant: Brian McGinnis, Alderbrook Resort and Spa
Project Description: Stormwater outfalls repair project on Hood Canal that will extend two outfall
discharges at MHHW to-3 ft MLLW to reduce beach erosion. Eastern outfall will be routed between
oyster beds under existing dock,which will be repaired(replaced)to accommodate pipe. Dock provides
public access to shoreline,oyster beds, recreational opportunities(swimming, kayak rentals), the resort
facilities,and the resort restaurant. Project will restore 0.14 ac of eroded intertidal habitat. Dock
modifications will result in a net gain of 2,688 sq ft of intertidal habitat, reduce shading, and replace
creosote pile with steel pile. Erosion and turbidity will be significantly reduced and stormwater will be
fully mixed with marine water at new outlets. JARPA attached.
This action under CZMA §307(c)(3)is for a project that will take place within Washington's coastal zone or which
will affect a land use,water use,or natural resource of the coastal zone.
