WASHINGTON 98124 NPSOP-RF 11 May 1977 Mr. Dean H. Fields Eldon Store Star Route 1, Box 85 Lilliwaup, Washington 98555 Dear Mr. Fields: ' In your letter of 28 April 1977, you requested approval for replacement of an old bulkhead fronting your property in Hood Canal, Puget Sound near Lillwaup, Mason County, Washington. You stated that the old existing bulkhead was washed out because of storms and tidal action. You propose to construct a concrete bulkhead three feet landward of the old existing bulkhead. We have no objections to the proposed work. All work must be performed landward of the original line of mean higher high water that existed before the old bulkhead washed out. Any new work waterward of this line will re- quire a permit. This letter does not excuse you from compliance with other Federal, State and local statutes, ordinances or regulations which may affect this work. If you have any further questions, please contact Mr. Stephen Wright, tele- phone (206) 764-3495. Sincerely yours, r rGERALD A. KELLER Acting Chief, Regulatory Functions Branch
