SEE-JM11QRWT GENERAL PROVISIONS ON REVERSE SIDE OF APPROVAL NOTE: The Department of Fisheries has reviewed your plans received on December 13 , 1993 . WDF discourages the use of pilings, lumber, and other materials treated with creosote and other wood preservatives and recommends instead the use of steel, concrete, or recycled plastic. Due to the deteriorated condition of the existing pilings and the size and wei ht of the attached float, WDF authorizes the removal of four 74) piling in their entirety and replacement with two (2) piling. Under separate and subsequent authorization the existing float shall be removed and disposed of upland such that it does not enter waters of the state. It shall be replaced with a float that meets WDF requirements for aerial coverage, floatation encapsulation, and grounding. 1 . This pro ect is appproved as illustrated in your application subject o the folowing provisions. 2 . Work below the ordinar higgh water line shall not occur from March 15 through June T4 0£ any year for the protection of migrating juvenile salmonids. 3 . In addition, due to the s awning periods of surf smelt and Pacific herring in southern Hood Canal, work below ordinary high water from September 15 through December 31, and from January 1 through January 14 of any year shall be limited to one high tide cycle. All manmade debris on the beach at the project site shall be removed and disposed of upland such that it does not enter waters of the state. 5 . The four (4) existing ppilin s shall be removed and disposed of upland such that they do no enter waters of the state. 6 . The two (2) replacement piling all lumber, and other materials treated with preservatives shall be sufficiently cured to minimize leaching into the water or bed. 7 . Project activities shall be conducted to minimize siltation of beach areas and bed materials. 8 . If a fish kill occurs or fish are observed in distress, the roject activity shall immediately cease and WDF Habitat p Management Division shall be notified immediately. 9 . Debris or deleterious material resulting from construction shall be removed from the beach area and project site and shall not be allowed to enter waters of the state. 10 . Water quality is not to be degraded to the detriment of fish life as a result of this project.
