Agate Land Surveying E 2680 Agate Road Shelton, Washington 98584 Subject: Evaluation of the proposed Short Plats for lots 24A, 24B, 24C, and 24D for Alfred Jones;., Jr. , Mason County Tax Parcel 32235-75-00240,; Lots 17A, 17B, 17C, and 17D for Doris Gail Darougl , Mason County Tax Parcel 32235-75-00170,,, and Lots 18A, 18B, 18C, and 18D for Tom Logen, Mason County Tax Parcel 32235-75-00180,4- as being in a Landslide Hazard Area as defined by Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance No. 77-93 . Dear Mr. Bechtolt: As requested, we conducted a reconnaissance level survey of the above properties to determine if mass wasting events have been active or are likely to occur on the above lots . This letter will present our observations and opinions based on this site survey and on our research. These Short Plats are located in the Timbertides Development in the plateau area above the south shore of Hood Canal . Proposed lots 17A and 18D will include existing residences that have been constructed on the north side Windstar Road and are at the crest of the north slope down into the Hood Canal . Lot 17B may have a potential building site on the north side of Windstar which would result in a residence being constructed in the top of the slope area. If this area is to be used for construction, a detailed geotechnical report addressing slope stability and drainage issues should be prepared once the location and type of construction is identified.
