Re: Pre-inspection; E. Timbertides Dr. , Lot 14 . Proposed single-
family residential development.
Mr. Sima and Ms . Jenne:
This site has been evaluated by this department and the building
department and determined not to meet the criteria identified in
the Mason County Interim Resource Ordinance (IRO) number 77-93
Chapter 17 . 01 . 100, Landslide Hazard Areas . The site appears stable
with no obvious indicators of slide activity. Our only concern is
the non-compacted area at the bank edge.
The building department will require that the slope either be
excavated for placement of a daylight basement, or the footings
will require engineering. The proposed location of the front of
the residence relative to the slope edge may be approved on one or
the other of those bases. Contact that department for further
information.
This department recommends that the grading, vegetative management
and drainage specifications found in the IRO landslide hazard area
chapter (enclosed) be met . Specifically, there should be little or
no disturbance of vegetation on the slope northward of your
building site. Limbing of trees is encouraged as opposed to tree
removal .
If you have any further questions regarding development on this
site don' t hesitate to contact us. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Don Brush, Planner
Department of Community Development
