SMOKE-CONTROL SYSTEM: 14.1. SPECIAL INSPECTOR SELECTION: The Special inspection Agency and Inspector shall be registered by the Washington Association of Building Officials(WABO)for the particular type of construction or operation requiring special inspection. Such inspecter(s)shall be selected by the owner's agent and approved by the Building Offic-at pncrto issuance of the buiidir,g permit. The special inspector shall fumish inspection reports to the building official,the engineer or architect of record, and other designated persons. All discrepancies shall be brought to the immediate attention of the contractor for correction,then, if uncorrected,to the proper design authority and to the buildmg official. The special Inspector shall submit a final signed report stating whether the work requiring special inspection was,to the best of the Inspector's knowledge, in conformance wKh the approved plans and specilcations and the applicable workmanship provisions of the Uniform Bui,ding Code as adopted by Mason County. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR: The contractor's duties include responsibility for notifying the special inspector or agency regarding individual inspections required by the building department Adequate notice shall be provided so that the special inspector with access to approved plans at the job site and be responsible for retaining at the job site all special inspection records submitted by the special inspector, and providing these records for review by the building department's inspector upon request. Completion of this special inspection form does not relieve the contractor's responsibility to schedule inspections by a Mason County building inspector before concealing any work DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ENGINEER OR ARCHITECT OF RECORD: The engineer or architect of record has many duties and responsibilities related to special inspection a00.11ties. They include identifying which special inspections are needed, developing a schedule, and assisting in the selection of the special inspector DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PROJECT OWNE R: The project owner or the engineer or architect o` record acting as the owner's agent is responsible for funding special inspection services per Section 1701 1 IV.
