1 . B1d94-0611 approved for issuance June 16, 1994
2 . Retaining wall and site engineered and approved by planning.
Planning completed site investigation prior to construction.
Recommended structure be located at toe of slope instead of on
steep area as first proposed and recommended engineering.
3 . August 20th excavation was completed without a problem. At the
end of the working day a sand layer saturated with water slid
onto the site. Workers and equipment were still on site.
Ecology blocks were used to contain the material . Material was
removed from road and site and place behind the blocks for a
temporary erosion control . Silt fencing was placed in the
ditch for sediment control .
4 . Building Department checked site on Monday; Planning was on
site Tuesday. Evans met with an engineer on Wednesday at the
site; water containment was biggest problem. Area was drying;
some water flowing into ditch.
5 . Evans stated he may not build at site and use it for parking
only, but the first priority was to stabalize site.
6 . John Sladek, P.E. , Bradley-Noble Geotechnical Co. , submitted
report and recommendations .
7 . Building Department will notify Mr. Evans and indicate that
construction of a structure at the site is subject to final
approval by engineer that the bank is stabalized.
8 . Received engineered plans. . .9-6-94 . Placed in file.
9 . Contact Evans for change of permit from garage to retaining
wall .
10 . Met with Dave Evans at office 9-15-94 . He wants to keep the
garage permit active.
11 . MEP is required by Planning Department .
