Members in attendance were Chairman David McMillin, Secretary Alice Snuffin, CAI Poe, Karen James, Herb Brehmeyer, and James Connolly of the Planning office. Carmen Yates arrived after the first variance request. Variance request - Dr. Perkins Short Plat Reconsideration. John Holmass requested reconsideration on behalf of Dr. Perkins . The lot size has been increased to be larger than the required 20,000 sq. feet but the front footage remains at 72.5 feet. The discussion centered on the reasons for variance requests. Traditionally they have been granted for hardship or situations that pre existed regulations. The Board was also fearful of the precedents set by Variances. Poe moved to deny variance, seconded by James, approved unanimously. Variance request - Gerald Ness - Gerald Ness reconsideration of a variance from set back regulations for a building permit. The lot has been surveyed and the highway located. His building plans call for a 20 x 24 structure set back 7 feet from the sea wall and 30 inches from the R/W. Ness pointed out that other buildings have encroached on the R/W recently. Moved, Seconded and passed to grant Variance from setback requirement. Variance request - V. P. Molinaro - V. P. Molinaro requested a variance from setback to build a storage shed. It will be setback from the adjacent buildings. Moved to grant variance, seconded and passed. The meeting adjourned.
