Young, P.E., P.L.S. -- o Civil Engineer& Land Surveyor FF- IIIII Art Tozier 401 W Bourgault Shelton WA 98584 Case#BLD 2011-00855 Installing Below Grade 1000 gallon Propane Tank Parcel#42115-32-00100 Engineer's Project#2011-15 Oct.20, 2011 REVIEW OF TANK BUOYANCY: The only objective of the Engineering Analysis is to assure Art Toner that the below grade Propane Tank will not become buoyant, even during the most extreme flooding conditions. Only when the Skokomish Valley is subjected to the most severe flooding will the Propane Tank buoyancy ever become an issue. For the purpose of the Engineering Analysis the depth of water upon Art Tozier's rock wail is assumed to be very high and does not represent any known conditions recorded to date. This Analysis DOES NOT INCLUDE either global or seismic analysis. GENERAL PROPANE TANK SPCIFICATION: Tank Volume = 1000 gallons or 133.70 ft^3 out to out diameter= 41 inches out to out length = 15-11" Empty weight = 1731 Ibs CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY: The Contractor is expected to use due care in properly installing the Tank to manufacturer's standards and according to acceptable standards. CHANGED CONDITIONS: The conclusions and recommendations in these engineering calculations are based on the interpretation of information received from the client. In the event that the scope of the project, surface/subsurface or contractal conditions differ from those relied on in these calculations, the civil engineer should be advised immediately. A review of the changed conditions will be conducted and alternative or remedial recommendations given at that time. 1 of 5 ASSUMED • 1-LLC7 WAT0DER 52' LEVEL 20' CBIVCRETE SLAB 12• O n Refer to page 4 of 5 for 65 4" recommended steel placement _ 37' in Concrete Slab W r- T- OS' 0.5' END VIEW OF TANK INSTALLATION SUMMATION OF WEIGHTS AND BUOYANCY N.T.S.
