Shoreline protection is to be constructed using large angular rock running landward of the toe of the bank, along approximately 110 to 120 lineal feet of frontage, including one set of beach access steps. Height of the bulkhead to be a maximum of 6 feet above the existing beach grade. Base rock to be keyed into beach a minimum of 18-24 inches below the existing beach grade. Entire bulkhead to be backed with 4-8 inch quarry spalls and filter fabric running the length of the bulkhead. Entire bulkhead to be constructed landward of MHHW. Minimal vegetation shall be disturbed. Existing manmade debris shall, including concrete and asphalt, shall be removed from the site. All activities are within the 100-year flood plain. The nearest waterbody is the Hood Canal. 6e. What are the start and end dates for project construction? Rock is the only material that is both environmentally friendly and strong enough to be used in the construction of a marine bulkhead. 6g. BMPs shall be followed during construction to protect water quality at the site. The WDFW's HPA provisions and marine construction rules shall also be strictly adhered to. Manmade debris shall be removed from the site, and non-native rock (basalt rip-rap) on the beach shall be utilized as quarry spalls in the project. 8b.
