RE: Bayley Storage Shed -(RES Job#010-012)
RES Engineering has reviewed the retaining walls requirements for the subject storage shed and
determined that the proposed retaining wall next to the existing retaining wall and the proposed wall
along the west side of the shed will provide adequate support for the design soil loading without the
abutting walls along the east and north sides of the building.
If you have any questions or other issues, please do not hesitate to cal I.

RE: Framing inspections- Bayley Cottage-(RES Job 409-040)
RES Engineering made an on-site inspection of the subject building on June 23,2010 as follow-up to our
inspections of April 12,2010 and May 9,2010. We determined that the as-built lateral bracing framing
was in essential compliance with our lateral bracing design as shown on the approved plans and
specifications. Our determination was based on what could be readily observed at the time of the
inspection(s), with verbal confirmation from the contractor that the specifications which could not be
readily observed were followed. Our inspection(s)did not include those items that are not included as
part of Mason Counties' inspections and did not include foundation elements.
Exceptions:
* A full length header was used in place of the header shown in detail SF l/S1. This required the
installation of MSTC28 vertical straps atthe header in place of the horizontal straps. The as-built
framing will provide for normal design loading.
* A window was added to the lower level bathroom which required reinforcement of the window-
opening. The as-built framing will provide support for normal design loading.
We also determined that the cut and notched floor joists supporting the floor above the lower level
bathroom does not reduce the strength of the framing below what is required for support of normal
design loading.
If you have any questions or other issues, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Gary D. Falk, P.E.
