Belfair, Wa. 98528 Re: Don and Barbara Brown Residence/Bulkhead development. Ms . Olson: At your request I staked the location of the ordinary high water mark and minimum shore yard setback at the Brown' s site. I spoke with them at the site also. (Jason Manassee will be out of the office for a few weeks soon so I am picking up some of his permits) . The site is experiencing little erosion and may even be accreting on the west end. The bulkhead will have to be placed tight against the toe of the bank. There will need to be some minor excavation in places to accomplish this . The staked line represents the waterward edge of the proposed bulkhead. We will need a detailed site plan indicating the curvature of the shoreline and the relationship of the bulkhead to it and a construction drawing. We are in receipt of the environmental checklist . We do not yet have a building permit application. A Hydraulics Project Approval will be required from the State Department of Fisheries. Measuring from the bulkhead line, the residence must be setback a minimum of 30 feet on the west side and 31 feet on the east side. This represents the "common line" setback. Two stakes were placed at this setback. No structures over 30 inches in height may be located waterward of this setback.
