Dear Mr. Holtcamp:
This morning I had a discussion with Ed Piland, our Building Inspector,
regarding your proposed dock. Mr. Piland can not approve a floating dock
which is only four feet in width due to the instability of a float of this
width. The ramp leading to the floating dock could be four feet wide
however.
Since our Building Inspector can not approve this design, the exemption
will not be issued. Float width would need to be at least six feet. Please
resubmit plans which will be acceptable. In order to be exempt from
requiring a Substantial Development Permit the value must be less than
$2,500. Value is figured at $8.50 sq/ft. If you have design questions,
please telephone Ed Piland between 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. , at 427-9670, Extension
359.
