After review of the pictures provided by you, the plans, and calculations, it was determined that the original strap connection from the back porch roof girder truss to the exterior wall top plate is not possible due to the offset location of the girder truss. To remedy this the back porch roof diaphragm will have to transfer all the load to the inset exterior wall along grid line B of the architectural plans. In review of the pictures, it appears that a full height rim is not installed above this wall per plan in this location. To ensure the proper load transfer can occur new 2x blocking needs to be installed at the top of the wall between the floor trusses and the porch roof connection to the blocking and the blocking connection to the top of wall should be per detail 8/S4.0 of the approved plans at this location. See attached SSK-1 and calculations for more information. For the strap at the exterior wall to glulam connection, the strap as located achieves the same load transfer and therefore is sufficient as installed. The floor blocking above the interior wall by the HVAC equipment in question is also ok to remove as needed for the HVAC system. That blocking is not being used structurally to transfer any loading and is utilized to resist rotation of the floor trusses, so one missing blocking in a bay should be ok.
