Mr. Borden:
With the good weather and the sunshine we get a large number of people and lots of
kids on the beach here in North Bay. I returned home late Friday to find three young
kids on my bulkhead temporary wall and playing behind it. Turns out, they can see
behind the wall from the beach, because the wall is low.
There are some wobbly spots and some jagged rocks and I worried about safety for
exploring young kids.
I put large blocks on that wall and it now "appears" to be a bulkhead wall the same
height as the rest of the bulkhead. One can't see behind and young kids can't see over
it. For greater safety until bulkhead construction time, I am going to replace some
of the washed out fill to cover the dangerous jagged areas.
Since a passer-by or a neighbor might—on a glance—see these safety moves as an effort
to make the wall permanent, I am writing you this informational letter. The wall is
temporary and will be removed, when the bulkhead work is done---as discussed with you.
I am actively acquiring bids. I am also making appointments with tree specialists,
that I may preserve the large trees, if possible.
