Debbera I've called the Fire Chief several times and left a message, and the assistant Fire Chief/ Fire
Marshal once. I will keep calling them until I get a response. The House is secured against entry,
however, that would not keep out an accomplished thief, or criminal. Although I don't know why anyone
would want to break in anymore.

I met with the owner on site to inspect the condition of the structure. From the exterior the building is poor condition. No roof on just some plywood and some plastic that has mostly blown off,it's been
raining on the interior of the building and what sheetrock is left is wet and moldy,The roof is improperly framed,2x4 rafters are over spanned and failing, headers and support beams over spanned and failing,
areas that cut out and re-framed were improperly done, rafters needed to be full span from bearing point to bearing point, instead the rafters were just seabed on to the ends of the old rotted rafters.
In several places the walls are rotted, the upper wall section in the rear is rotted were the lower roof connects to it and raps around the corner.on the right side of the garage the wall next the door is rotted
andpushing out,it also appreas there is rot around most of the windows.the sill plate along the left side of the house is exposed and is very rotted.not sure how far it extends did not go into crawl.what
framing is exposed on the interior is poorly done. All the plumbing/mech/insulation/sheetrock would also need to be relaced. To repair what is here at least 50%or more of the structure would have to be
demo'ed,maybe more, the sheetrock from the ceiling and walls would need to be removed and at that point more rot may be exposed.I let the owner know he could rebuilding the building but the cost to
repair would most likely out way the cost to just tear it down and start over.He stated that he would take the building down.I let him know a demo.permit was required,I gave him my card and let him know
that if he had more question to call me.

First...you need to know that we do not believe you are not telling the truth. Our dept. understands that
work is done without required permits because of a misunderstanding. In addition while in the midst of
doing a repair the owner finds unanticipated damage that needs to be addressed. Our office is charged
with enforcing the state codgs, Consequently when our inspector observes that work is being performed
that requires a permit, men we re' a complaint it is necessary to—otify the p s responsible.
Duringg site inspection scheduled this week the building inspector will be able to identify new
construction and tell you, and other parties on site, what information is needed to approve the project and
issue a building permit. Hopefully the plans you have provided will be adequate but based upon the
hotos and o1#tAiLgcussion I expect that some informatiop may need to be added or plans modified.

I guess I am a little slow Debbera. I was an Inspector at the Boeing Company for over 30 years. In fact I
was the Senior Lead Tooling Inspector in the Boeing Company, when I retired in 2006 with 42 years of
service. I had to retire because of my health.
It's too bad I didn't under stand what we needed the sketch for last year. I would have done it myself,
instead of depending on other people to take care of my business. Brandon, my nephew, used my
aftig supplies to make the sketch. He still has them.-
I don'nt lie to people, I told you we were going to remove the sheeting and check the structure for damage,
because one of the renter's patched the roof and made it leak from one end to the other and it had been
that way for a whole year. He also put a patch over the electrical box, which leaked, and caused the
incoming high voltage wire to short out. That's why there is no power to the house. We have to fix the
I7f before we can fix the elecztrical.
ve'never dealt with a contractor that fixes things with out telling the owner. Usually when they find-a
problem they tell the owner, so he can agree to repairs, and provide additional funds to fix the job. My
telephone conversation with him in your office, Thursday, was the first Jima hA hoe to m
removed ro and. atir . I asked him to line up the flashing where the lower
roo , in ront, from the house and garage didn't line up. it looks like He rebuilt the entire roof. That's what
you were showing me pictures of in your office. All he had to do was remove the flashing and realign it.
don't have a problem building to code, I just need to know what I need to do so we can finish roofing the
house, and I can go on with my life.

Debbera thank you for the reply. I asked the contractor to get a building permit last year, he said I would
have to do that. After I got the permit, several of the neighbors told me I shouldn't have gotten a building
permit, but since I did, I should have told you that we were going to remove the composition roofing and
replace it, and nothing else. They were friends of my brother; Margret Raymen and Peter VanDerwalt.
They are now deceased. I assume they had a reason for telling me that, they didn't say.
I identified new construction on Thursday. The top of the roof has been replaced I found the parts
removed, on the ground, in the back yard. Had we understood what the problem was last year, Patty
and Katherine could have taken care of it and moved into the house last year. Katherine, who was
pregnant, lived in her van with her three small children for three months while she saved enough money
from her job at a Verizon contractor to rent a house. All of her extra money was used to pay on the
mortgage and her divorce, after her husband lost his job and split. The bank reposed her house July 1 st,
the banks have since revised their business practices, but that doesn't help Katherine.
have to use the same contractor, as he was already paid to roof the house last year. I assume he will
need to re-estimate the job and bill me for additional work. He still has the copy of the Inspector's finding
from last year, I assume we don't need to worry about those items, because they will be included on the
new report.

> First...you need to know that we do not believe you are not telling the truth. Our dept. understands that
work is done without required permits because of a misunderstanding. In addition while in the midst of
doing a repair the owner finds unanticipated damage that needs to be addressed. Our office is charged
with enforcing the state codes. Consequently when our inspector observes that work is being performed
that requires a permit, or when we receive a complaint it is necessary to notify the parties responsible.
> During the site inspection scheduled this week the building inspector will be able to identify new
construction and tell you, and other parties on site, what information is needed to approve the project and
issue a building permit. Hopefully the plans you have provided will be adequate but based upon the
photos and our discussion I expect that some information may need to be added or plans modified.

I've found where some one is breaking into the house when no one is around. And I have to get another
gas weed eater to cut the long grass around the house. (some one broke in and stole a bunch of items,
tools, and building materials, from the house and garage). Also they recently broke off the door knob on
the front door, and I have to remove the pieces to get in the front door, or apply a wrench or vice grip to
the mechanism to open the door.
