We've included the items from your original letter below(in italics)for convenience. Items 4, 5, 7,and 8 are related to mechanical systems. The mechanical systems are a design-build portion of the project. The Mechanical drawings provided with the building permit application are schematic level and so not all requested information is contained therein. The mechanical subcontractor will provide a complete set of drawings and equipment specifications as part of the deferred mechanical permit submittal. Please confirmation the following items are deferred submittals: '/ Walk in cooler Hoods Hood suppression system Pre-Manufactured wood trusses and joist Equipment anchorage Response: Several of the items listed are not applicable to this project: Exterior cladding system: the exterior finish will be Hardie fiber cement panel siding installed as a rain screen in compliance with IRC 703.10.1 and so does not require a submittal. j4Pre-Engineered stairs: there are no fabricated pre-engineered stairs on this project, so there will be no submittal. lSkylight framing: there are no skylights on this project, so there will be no submittal. Pr Union Washington Residences Case No.BLD2018-01027 Dt July 3,2019 Pg 2 of 4 The items listed that are deferred submittals are: Walk-in cooler: this is a design-build item by the Food Service Equipment subcontractor and will be submitted by the General Contractor. Hoods: the main cooktop exhaust hood and the pull-down exhaust hood for the dishwasher are design-build items by the Foodservice Equipment subcontractor and will be submitted by the General Contractor. Hood suppression system: the fire suppression system for the cooktop main exhaust hood is a design-build item by the Foodservice Equipment subcontractor and will be submitted by the General Contractor. Pre-Manufactured wood trusses and joists: this is a design-build item by the truss fabricator and will be submitted by the General Contractor. Equipment anchorage: this is a deferred submittal that will be submitted by the General Contractor. The following items have been found as deficient or as needing clarity. 1. On page S101 the NE and East walls are missing shearwall detail. Provide updated page Response: Refer to separate response letter by the Structural Engineer which contains the updated sheet as an attachment. 2. On page S102 the SW wall is missing shearwall detail. Provide updated page Response: Refer to separate response letter by the Structural Engineer which contains the updated sheet as an attachment. 3. The areas of restrooms and laundry are shown on mechanical page with ventilation fans, however, the CFM's must be shown on the plans. Response: The updated Mechanical schematic plan sheets with added CFM information for ventilation fans are attached. 4. Need information regarding kitchen exhaust and dishwasher hood, if 400 CFM or more make up air must be provided. Please provide compliance information on the plan sheets. Response: The attached updated Mechanical schematic plan sheets show accommodation for supplying make up air for the kitchen hoods. Compliance information and specifics on the make- up air equipment selected will be submitted as part of the deferred mechanical permit application. Pr Union Washington Residences Case No.BLD2018-01027 Dt July3,2019 Pg 3 of 4 Additional: The Laundry equipment has been specified since the permit submittal and it was found that the commercial scale dryers are of such a size as to require make-up air. The attached updated Mechanical schematic plans show accommodation for supplying make-up air to the Laundry. The Appliance Schedule listing the laundry equipment is attached. 5. Selected energy credit requires an HRV. Please provide specifications and locations of the HRV on plan sheets. Response: The updated Mechanical schematic plan sheets are attached. These now show the HRV equipment location and an added note describing the general requirement for an HRV system. Specifics on the equipment selected will be subm.itted as part of the deferred mechanical permit application. 6. On page A402 detail 1, what is FE 03? Response: "FE03" is a tag designating a piece of foodservice equipment,an icemaker. For informational purposes, the attached schedule is a comprehensive list of all foodservice that will be part of the construction documents. As you can see, there are many incidental items. Sheet A101 of the permit drawings contains an abbreviated version with just the commercial grade items listed. 7. Two items shown with question marks, please explain. Dryer duct???& Return duct needed???Page M103. Response: The updated Mechanical schematic plan sheets are attached. These reflect a more developed mechanical systems schematic design and so resolve these items that were unknown at the time of publication for building permit application submittal. S. Unit heater in garage creates a conditioned space, therefore it must meet WSEC. This will require compliance changes to envelope and energy credits. If the units MAX output is less than 3.4 btu's per square foot, it is not considered conditioned space. If this is the intent, must provide a manufactures specification for the unit for office and field verification. Response: It is the intent that Garage 009 complies with being unconditioned space. A note now appears on the updated sheet M101 stating the energy use limit. The space will be outside of the building thermal envelope and construction will comply with WSEC requirements. Specifics on the unit heater equipment will be submitted as part of the deferred Mechanical permit application.
