Subject: Mantle Industries, Residential Ramp Design GGHL#200808.15
MII drawing #91-175
Dear John:
Per your request, we have performed additional calculations for the residential ramp
design originally reviewed in our letters of 5 October 1992 (GGHL# 91827.01), 12
January 1996 (GGHL# 96810.01), and 11 December 1998 (GGHL# 98808.85). These
calculations along with the original 1992,1996, and 1998 calculations verify the ramp
design will be adequate for the following design criteria:
Live Load: Per Schedules Below
Wind: 80 mph, UBC 1997, Exposure "C"
Utilities: N/A
Guardrail: 20 plf lateral per UBC 1997 -
Aluminum: 6061-T 6 p (table 16 B)
Welding: 5356 Filler Alloy, All Welding Performed by WABO Certified Weldors.
Shore Mounts: All calculations assume that adequate foundations, shore mounts,
and landings have been provided to support the gangway ramp.
Configuration 1
Top Chord: 2" schedule 40 pipe
Floor Beams: Angle 3" x 3" X 1/4"
Other Members: Per MII drawing #91-175
Maximum Dimensions and Loads: 4' wide x 32' span, 40 Psf max live load
