A Fire Protection Plan, including a Fire Alarm System Performance Standard sheet. 2. A copy of the proposed site plan showing the primary access road designation. 3. A copy of our Standards for the Design, Installation and Maintenance of Automatic Fire Alarm System Systems and our Standards for the Submittal of Fixed Fire Protection System Plans. The latter document relates to the fire protection system for the commercial kitchen hood. The Fire Alarm Performance Standard, the Standards for the Design, Installation and Maintenance of Automatic Fire Alarm System and the Standards for the Submittal of Fixed Fire Protection System Plans can be provided to the contractors that would complete those projects. Box 186 Shelton,Washington 98584 (206)427-9670 CODE ENFORCEMENT FIRE INSPECTIONS FIRE INVESTIGATION PUBLIC EDUCATION FIRE PROTECTION PLAN FOR HARMONY HILL WELLNESS CENTER EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS Intent is to provide for emergency vehicle access (fire engine or water tender) to within 150 feet of any portion of the exterior walls of the following buildings: BLDG. C, D, K, E, H, G, F, I, L, M, Q The Mason County Fire Code requires a 20 foot wide access road. The applicant was advised to work towards achieving that width for the road system serving the major building core(s), as identified on the attached site plan. Mason County FD 6 will conduct some on-site surveys to evaluate the access. FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS The following buildings are to have automatic fire alarm systems installed to Mason County standards: BLDG. C, D, K, E, H, G, F, I, L, M, Q A co of Mason Count Standards for Fire Alarm Systems is attached. copy Y Y It is recommended that a location be established for a single fire alarm panel that would collect and transmit fire alarm signals for all buildings. This panel 9 9 should in i be stalled in the first building to be constructed. A Fire Alarm System Performance Standard sheet is also attached. TD TJ G i c COMMERCIAL COOKING SYSTEMS Any commercial range is required to be protected by a Class I Hood and fire suppression system. The suppression system is to be connected to the site fire alarm system and transmitted as a separate zone. A copy of the Mason County Standards for Fixed Fire Suppression Systems is attached. BUILDING IDENTIFIERS To aid in identification by emergency responders, each occupied building should have a visual identifier; i.e., a number or letter, that is visible from the primary access road. It is understood that this visual designation needs to fit the esthetics of the campus concept. PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS Each occupied building is required to have one portable fire extinguisher at each exit door. Specific locations will be noted on construction plans. LIGHTED EXIT SIGNS AND EMERGENCY LIGHTS Buildings with occupant loads over 50 and buildings where people are sleeping (except the small 8x10 cottages and the single-family residence) will be require to have lighted exit signs and emergency lights. Specific locations will be noted on construction plans. KNOX BOX EMERGENCY KEY BOX A KNOX BOX emergency key box will be required if requested by FD 6. Box 186 Shelton,Washington 98584 (206)427-9670 CODE ENFORCEMENT FIRE INSPECTIONS FIRE INVESTIGATION PUBLIC EDUCATION Fire Alarm System Performance Standard for Harmony Hill Wellness Center SYSTEM COMPONENTS 1 . Fire alarm installation must comply with NFPA 72 and must meet all appropriate ADA requirements. 2. Provide a single fire alarm control panel with sufficient capacity to monitor and transmit fire alarm signals from multiple buildings and multiple zones within some buildings. 3. A site annunciator with LED readouts is required at a readily accessible location that will provide a visual representation of the alarm or trouble signal location. 4. A 10 inch bell and white strobe light is to be installed on each building at a location facing the primary fire department access point. 5. Smoke alarms are required in all occupied spaces and exit corridors. Rate of rise or fixed temperature heat detectors are required in all areas where smoke alarms are not suitable, including attics, restrooms, and storage and mechanical rooms. A smoke alarm is required to protect the fire alarm panel. 6. System is to monitor a fixed fire suppression system in a commercial kitchen hood. SYSTEM OPERATION 1 . All defined zones are to be transmitted to an approve central receiving station.
