FIRE PROTECTION PLAN FOR
HARMONY HILL WELLNESS CENTER
EMERGENCY VEHICLE ACCESS
Intent is to provide for emergency vehicle access (fire engine or water
tender) to within 150 feet of any portion of the exterior walls of the
following buildings:
BLDG. C, D, K, E, H, G, F, I, L, M, Q
The Mason County Fire Code requires a 20 foot wide access road. The
applicant was advised to work towards achieving that width for the road
system serving the major building core(s), as identified on the attached site
plan.
Mason County FD 6 will conduct some on-site surveys to evaluate the
access.
FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS
The following buildings are to have automatic fire alarm systems installed to
Mason County standards:
BLDG. C, D, K, E, H, G, F, I, L, M, Q
A co of Mason Count Standards for Fire Alarm Systems is attached.
copy Y Y
It is recommended that a location be established for a single fire alarm panel
that would collect and transmit fire alarm signals for all buildings. This panel
9 9
should in i be stalled in the first building to be constructed.
A Fire Alarm System Performance Standard sheet is also attached.

c
COMMERCIAL COOKING SYSTEMS
Any commercial range is required to be protected by a Class I Hood and fire
suppression system. The suppression system is to be connected to the site
fire alarm system and transmitted as a separate zone.
A copy of the Mason County Standards for Fixed Fire Suppression Systems
is attached.
BUILDING IDENTIFIERS
To aid in identification by emergency responders, each occupied building
should have a visual identifier; i.e., a number or letter, that is visible from
the primary access road. It is understood that this visual designation needs
to fit the esthetics of the campus concept.
PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Each occupied building is required to have one portable fire extinguisher at
each exit door. Specific locations will be noted on construction plans.
LIGHTED EXIT SIGNS AND EMERGENCY LIGHTS
Buildings with occupant loads over 50 and buildings where people are
sleeping (except the small 8x10 cottages and the single-family residence)
will be require to have lighted exit signs and emergency lights. Specific
locations will be noted on construction plans.
KNOX BOX EMERGENCY KEY BOX
A KNOX BOX emergency key box will be required if requested by FD 6.
Contact FD 6 for details.

appropriate ADA requirements.
2. Provide a single fire alarm control panel with sufficient capacity to
monitor and transmit fire alarm signals from multiple buildings and multiple

location that will provide a visual representation of the alarm or trouble
signal location.
4. A 10 inch bell and white strobe light is to be installed on each building at
a location facing the primary fire department access point.
5. Smoke alarms are required in all occupied spaces and exit corridors. Rate
of rise or fixed temperature heat detectors are required in all areas where
