So far, we have replaced the old dock, put in fueling/boat pump-out and completed the landscaping. The remaining portion is the renovation to the existing building. We would like to upgrade the side of the building facing the boat launch. With the building very close to the property line of the County boat launch, we cannot currently put in windows on that side of the building and the new wall assembly will require a high fire rating. We would like to propose an idea that is done quite often in Seattle. It would appear that the public boat launch will remain a public boat launch in perpetuity. If Mason County were to grant the Hood Canal Marina a 15 foot easement into the boat launch, we would be able to add windows and renovate the exterior walls, as typical commercial building. • Hood Canal Marina Storage Building. With the marina,we have an 8,000 s.f. boat storage building up on 51h street above the marina. Demand for boat storage space is such that we are looking to build a 2nd storage building next to the existing storage building.
