7) STORAGE RACKS
Storage racks greater than 5'9" and up to 8'0" in height shall be installed in accordance to manufacturer specifications for seismic attachment.
When seismic attachment is not provided by the manufacturer an engineered design and attachment details shall be required. Installation
specifications or engineer's design shall be available during inspections performed by the Mason County Building Department.
Storage racks greater than 8-ft in height shall require an engineer's design addressing seismic conditions and attachment. In addition, storage
racks 8-ft tall or more shall require special inspection performed by the design professional or an approved representative. The special inspection
report and engineered design shall be provided to the Mason County Building Department for approval prior to the final occupancy inspection.

8) LOCK BOX:
Install a knox box on the front of the building per section 506 of the 2012 International Fire code. Please contact the local fire district for more
information and inspections.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:
Install 2A10BC fire extinguishers throughout the building in accordance with chapter 9 of the 2012 International Fire code. The fire extinguishers
shall be installed such that the extinguishers are located not more than a travel distance of 75 feet in any direction and mounted no more than 60
inches above floor to the top of the unit. At least one extinguisher is required on every level or floor.

9) MEANS OF EGRESS DOORS
Means of egress doors shall be readily distinguishable from the adjacent construction and finishes such that the doors are easily recognizable as
doors. Egress doors shall be side-hinged unless specifically exempted in the International Building Code, Section 1008.1.2. Door hardware shall
allow egress doors to be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort.

15) Provisions for surface/subsurface drainage control must be implemented with new construction or development on site and MUST NOT adversely
impact adjacent parcels. Under the requirements of Mason County Stormwater Ordinance, either private ditches and drains will meet requirements
of the stormwater ordinance or prior approval will be granted to use an existing utility and drainage easement dedicated for that specific purpose.
For further information regarding this ordinance and the REQUIREMENT to obtain an ACCESS PERMIT for the installation/construction of a
driveway or access connecting from a Mason County Road, Contact the Mason County Public Works Department prior to construction at Ext 450.
For any construction which is proposed to be located within 25' of a Mason County road right of way, it is suggested to contact that office to review
future planned work whi��ffect your project.

16) Changes to approved building plans that affect compliance to the current Washington State Energy Code (WSEC), ventilationrequirements),
Building/Plumbi / echanical Codes and/or Mason County Regulations shall be approved prior to construction.

17) CONSTRUCTION PROCESS TO BE FIELD CORRECTED AS REQUIRED PER MASON COUNTY BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND THE
ADOPTED BUILDING CODE.
The construction of the permitted project is subject to inspections by the Mason County Building Department. All construction must be in
conformance with the international codes as amended and adopted by Mason County. Any corrections, changes or alterations required by a
Mason County ding Inspector shall be made prior to requesting additional inspections.

18) All building permits shall have a final inspection performed and approved by the Mason County Building Department prior to permit expiration. The
failure to request a final inspection or to obtain approval will be documented in the legal property records on file with Mason County as being

Ref. Brian P McGinis ---- answer to questions from your department and your needs to have a designer
check the site out to see if the following would cause any adverse effects on the existing septic system.
1. Converting the end of the marina next to the street into a place where marina users as well
drive ups and or walk-ins could pick up drinks,candy and snacks in general. Making coffee and
coffee related drinks must be limited to using disposable cups. Only washing and sanitizing
coffee making equipment will be allowed. Cooked items must not be prepared in this building.
2. The question is,would this be possible without modifying the existing septic system?
After reviewing past records of the previous permit application and how it is now actually being
used, I told Brian that I did not see any reason why they could not use the current system. Other use
permits may apply.
Currently there are no showers,as the original rest rooms never had the showers added. Although
showers where approved.
The Kayak sales and rentals have been discontinued due to lack of sales. Most of male boat traffic seem
to prefer the county furnished sani-cans at the boat ramp. Even the boats that want to unload their
holding tanks are sent to Alderbrook Inn dock. NOTE there is a separate holding tank on this site just for
boats. This serviced by AAA via a service agreement. Nothing from the boats enters into the Marina
septic system.
Based on my records of the Tides RV Park it would be a rare day when they would use more than 30
gallons per unit, it mostly is less than 25 gallons per unit. So the 2 care-taker RVs usage of 60 gallons
would still be acceptable

Subject: RE: Hood Canal Marina parking layout.
Hi Allan:
We have been working with Len Williams concerning a new retail space we are
planning to open inside the existing Hood Canal Marina building for this
summer. We will need to do some interior demo as well as finish work to the
existing space. On Friday, we submitted the following: (a) "Change in
Tenant Application" (COM2015-00066); and (b) a building permit application
(COM2015-00067).
We just recently received owner approval and are now worried that there
won't be enough time to get the space upgraded by the end of June if the
building permit approval process takes too long. Since we don't want to
miss the entire summer season, I thought I would send you this email. If
you have any recommendation as how we can facilitate our permit approval, it
would be much appreciated.

Hi Allan,
Attached is a site plan we prepared for Hood Canal Marina some time back. It
has not been implemented, in terms of the parking layout, but the limits of
the parking area do not change from the existing layout. As you can see,
there are some minor trade-offs between new landscape areas and gravel
parking, but the net result will be less gravel, if anything.
It appears to us that no permit would be required for this work, but we
wanted to make sure we are going through the right steps.

Your firm prepared this attached site plan drawing back on 10/11/12, which
provides 8 more parking spaces than what currently exists. I would like to
go ahead and implement this new parking layout this spring. It looks like
we would only need to install the new tire stops/bumbers and add some
gravel. Would this work require any permit? It sure doesn't seem so since
we are making these changes inside the existing parking lot area.
