FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:
Install 2A10BC fire extinguishers throughout the building in accordance with chapter 9 of the 2012 International Fire code. The fire extinguishers
shall be installed such that the extinguishers are located not more than a travel distance of 75 feet in any direction and mounted no more than 60
inches above floor to the top of the unit. At least one extinguisher is required on every level or floor.

�7) STORAGE RACKS
Storage racks greater than 69"and up to 8'0" in height shall be installed in accordance to manufacturer specifications for seismic attachment.
When seismic attachment is not provided by the manufacturer an engineered design and attachment details shall be required. Installation
specifications or engineer's design shall be available during inspections performed by the Mason County Building Department.
Storage racks greater than 8-ft in height shall require an engineer's design addressing seismic conditions and attachment. In addition, storage
racks 8-ft tall or more shall require special inspection performed by the design professional or an approved representative. The special inspection
report and engineered design shall be provided to the Mason County Building Department for approval prior to the final occupancy inspection.

8) All other necessary permits from Mason County, Washington State and/or Federal Agencies that are required for this proposed development and
construction must be obtained PRIOR TO SAME DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION. X
9) Contractor registration laws are governed under RCW 18.27 and enforced by the WA State Dept of Labor and Industries, Contractor Compliance

of the stormwater ordinance or prior approval will be granted to use an existing utility and drainage easement dedicated for that specific purpose.
For further information regarding this ordinance and the REQUIREMENT to obtain an ACCESS PERMIT for the installation/construction of a
driveway or access connecting from a Mason County Road, Contact the Mason County Public Works Department prior to construction at Ext 450.
For any construction which is proposed to be located within 25' of a Mason County road right of way, it is suggested to contact that office to review
future planned work which may aee tyour project.

15) CONSTRUCTION PROCESS TO BE FIELD CORRECTED AS REQUIRED PER MASON COUNTY BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND THE
ADOPTED BUILDING CODE.
The construction of the permitted project is subject to inspections by the Mason County Building Department. All construction must be in
conformance with the international codes as amended and adopted by Mason County. Any corrections, changes or alterations required by a

failure to request a final inspection or to obtain approval will be documented in the legal property records on file with Mason County as being

18) All permits expire 180 days after permit issuance, or 180 days after the last inspection activity is performed. The Building Official may extend the
time for action for a period not exceeding 180 days, upon the receipt of a written extension request indicating that circumstances beyond the control
of the permit holderbave prevented action from being taken. No more than one extension may be granted.

19) Pressure treated wood manufactured after January 1, 2004 may contain high concentrations of copper which could quickly corrode metal
fasteners, cone tors, and flashing. Install metal connectors approved for contact with the new types of pressure treated material.

I was contacted by Mr. Brian McGinnis who requested my assistance in gaining approval of
the merchandise stocking shelves that have been installed at the "Union Marina" building in
Union Washington.
I inspected the assembly on June 15'h, 2015 and took measurements and investigated the
assembly's materials, connections, and attachment to the Marina building. The galvanized
iron pipe frame mainly provides vertical support and has a load capacity far exceeding the
shelf plank to support vertical loads. The inside feature has no wind exposure, and seismic
motion is completely damped by the walls, ceiling and floor attachments.

NDS specifications used for the wood shelves suggests Fyy for a double (2 —2x6 side by side)
plank (door frame) is on the order of Fb— 1000 psi, and an Syy of 2.063 . The moment
available was used to determine the load(s) on the beam that would produce the maximum
allowed moment;
Fb = M/(width)(Thickness2)/6 1000 =M/4.125 Mmax <=4125 in-lbs
4125 =w(632)/8 w = 8.344 #/in 8.3 x 12"= 100 lbs/ft of shelf length.
I recommend that the shelve construction be accepted with a stipulation that the shelves are
not loaded greater than 100 pounds per front foot of shelving. With the 24" wide shelves, this
is equivalent to an approximate 501bs/ft2 maximum shelf loading.
